Coaching matters a ton but it's more your offensive and defensive game plans and schemes that put your players in position to succeed or fail. Not whether they can catch a ball thrown right between their hands.

We kind of have an overload of talent on the DLine, so much that our 1st round pick isn't getting many reps, but is there any interest in bringing in Justin Houston for this run?

Can he catch a pass?

He has been available multiple times since he left KC and the Chiefs have never shown any interest. We don't seem to have any need of Houston so I don't see the point in adding him. The D line and linebackers seem to have a good group that doesn't need whatever "vet presence" he might bring.

Blame Deflategate 2.0 for Butker's perfect kicking season being ruined. Not shocking that the Patriots organization got caught cheating again.

Considering the Pats history, it's hard to believe that could happen...again. Glad it was their players who noticed it.

I wondered why Butker didn't bury the kickoff in the end zone.

A short Butker kickoff, a missed Butker FG and a 35 yard Townsend punt to the NE 39 yard line all in the first half.

He's been available at multiple times the Chiefs have had a need over the last several years. Have to guess that, whether it's on one side or both, there's an impasse that won't be resolved until some wounds heal and he goes up into the ring.

I'd forgotten about the punt. I was up walking thru the room looking back over my shoulder wondering if it wasn't a weak-ass punt, when the commentator spoke up and pointed out.

New England's kicker missed a FG in the first half, too. I really don't understand why there has been zero comment from the NFL on this.

Meanwhile the NFL is calling offensive offsides all over. More last week than in the last season combined. Nothing to see here.

I think the Pats knew about the under inflated footballs the way they are reacting to it.

Maybe they thought they wouldn’t kick it past a certain distance and that would help them incrementally.

It’s so so wonderful living up here, with the Chiefs being good, and the Pats just crumbling. Fucking cheats.

Refs spanking the Chiefs. They are like spoiled kids on that offsides call now.

The extra days of opponent prep are really telling. The Raiders have not been fooled by a single play out of the first 10. They have every short pass scouted like Denver did a few weeks ago. Chiefs better break tendency or get some turnovers

Pretty easy to not get fooled if you don't believe your opponent can throw deep. KC offense is broken.

The Chiefs are okay with the passing really. Mahomes just needs to get some time. Rice, Watson James and Kelce looked pretty good. I do think Andy needs to stop scripting the first few series. The Raiders seemed to have the script. With AI and a ton of history, you really can know what is coming
