Sounds like Jeff Grimes will be hired as the new OC. Lots of experience with the wide zone run scheme and option concepts. Probably also takes on the TE position coach role Coach K had. Good hire.

Si.
And his offenses there weren't rather good.
We'll see.

Baylor won the Big 12 with a top 10 offense his first year there. He's a two-time finalist for the Broyles Award and made Zach Wilson look like a first-round draft pick at BYU. If Leipold thinks he's a good fit as part of the staff, I trust his judgement.

i don’t see how any KU fan could reasonably question Lance’s staffing decisions…at least at this point
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

I think the most valuable thing Grimes brings is continuity and consistency. His experience and system is extremely similar to what Leipold has always run with Coach K/Coach Z. It's wide zone running with option concepts. Most of the verbiage and playbook won't be subject to wholesale change, just putting his own twist on it. That's the biggest part and I think that's what Leipold was looking for when filling this position was someone who fit the mold of what they want to continue running.

Probably mentioned on the GRate thread but I have smile when I realize KU put up 49 points without Kotelnicki.
