And you don't want to consider these people might have mental health issues?
By your logic all white people have mental health issues? What’s your point?

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

The store that sold the gun and the ammo and the manufacturers of the gun and the ammo are the only entity that came out ahead in all this.

There's a lot deranged mentally ill people running around there. This flawed society is breeding them.

I'd suggest everyone learn how to defend themselves just in case
All the more reason to better restrict who has access to lethal weapons and who does not.
You just don't understand how MAGA brain works.

You have to remember you're talking to someone who would have us spend $25 billion - the amount of NASA's annual budget - on a wall that cannot possibly work (and would be a legal and humanitarian and diplomatic disaster besides). That's how animating a certain type of moral malignancy is.

So, in that light, you should consider that we haven't even begun to scratch the surface of what MAGAs are willing to do* before taking the most obvious mitigating steps.

* As an example, Vivek drew praise for charting a path toward institutionalizing (and religiously-educating) trans people.

Thinking you are in the wrong body is a clear sign that something is wrong. Stop being "righteous liberals" and be realistic.

That doesn't make anyone a POS for being honest.

No I don't have anything against trans people or think they are less than. I think they need help. Actual help. Not people playing along with some weird agenda where we "affirm" their delusion. That's the opposite of help

You think they need help. That's admirable. Problem is there are people who would rather shame and abuse trans people than give them help.
Trans or not, Dylan Butler was abused, bullied, shamed. As was his sister. Dylan Butler reached his breaking point.
There is a lesson to be learned.

Crazy that when these kidsshoot up a school... you still blame the other guys for bullying them or allowing guns to exist for law abiding citizens

No amount of bullying justifies shooting up a school and killing innocent people

Of course someone who is/was bullied doesn't have to shoot people because of it and of course I am not excusing Dylan Butler's behavior.

I blame extenuating circumstances because I am someone who realizes it takes something to make a person snap.
I blame "the other guys" FOR PLAYING A ROLE.
Pretty simple, you're not an asshole to someone, they don't feel like shit because of it - nor a need to act out on their inner pain.
I don't blame allowing guns to exist for law abiding citizens. I do blame the easy accessibility of guns for playing a role in many mass shootings.
You seem to know everything about Dylan Butler, was he a "law abiding citizen"? How did he get his guns?

Multiple things can be true. Such as Dylan Butler was a POS for what he did. I feel those who bullied him were POS too.
For every cause there is an affect/reaction. Some extreme. Some not.

No amount of bullying should make someone decide to shoot up a place.

That just shows how soft and fragile this modern society is

Once upon a time if you got bullied, you were taught tough shit, suck it up, you'll be OK, stick and stones may hurt my bones but words will never hurt me

The shooter is to blame. Not some kids picking on him. Them playing a role is pretty much a non factor. Normal people don't just start shooting places up because they were picked on

Because he took advantage of his easy access to weapons and ammo that he used to vent his frustration. If he didn't those people would still be alive and he'd just be another angry teen.

Orrrr.... if he was intent on murduring people, which he obviously was, he would just find another way to do it. There's plenty of ways. Murder existed long before guns did

Why make it as easy as possible for people to quickly and easily kill a lot of people in a shirt amount of time?

It's insane how many different reasons Conservatives roll out there to continue to be OK with all these kids being murdered. All while at the same time making "what about the safety of children" their rallying cry on other issues.

When it gets down to it, the real GOP platform seems to be "whatever Dem voters want, we want the opposite". It's fundamentally hypocritical and ignorant and results in nothing getting done to help anything or anyone.

I agree no amount of bullying should make someone decide to shoot up a place.

Once upon a time is how many fairy tales begin.
Easy for YOU to feel someone should suck it up, they'll be ok, words will never hurt them.
I was in a support group in which one person had been physically and verbally abused by his father. His father beat the shit out of him. Broke bones in his body. His father put out his lit cigarets on him.
He said those injuries eventually healed. The affects of the verbal abuse is what he is still living with every day.

Yes, the shooter is to blame.
As I said, some kids picking on him (interesting you referred to Dylan Butler as a "him" probably played a roll. It's possible it was a HUGE factor. WE don't know. What we do know is, when people don't get picked on, they don't feel like shit because of it.

Right, "normal" people don't just start shooting places up because they were picked on.
As someone who is not "normal", I can tell you I have never shot anyone but I sure as hell used other destructive methods to cope - and act out - at times as cries for help.
I'll say it again, I am NOT defending what Dylan Butler did. What I am doing is trying to bring awareness as to why he may have done it.

As far as you decided who and what is "normal", let me guess, you think you're "normal"? :?
In some ways, you're probably not "normal" at all.

In this case.. I'm using the term "normal" to describe people that don't commit random acts of violence and shoot random people. And "not normal" refers to the school shooter

But no... I don't think generally speaking anyone is "normal/not normal" we are all individuals shaped by our experiences
