I wonder if it’s time to turn the argument into “Which is more harmful: assault rifles or ID fraud in voting?”

Here is why I am probably clinically insane.
I look at the Statue of Liberty and think/wonder....

When Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi designed her/him/it, did he intend for her/him/it to be a transgender "illegal" immigrant who had an abortion holding a banned book with an AR-15 strapped under her/his/its clothes?

Every college kid under the age of 21 in America laughs at the notion that a state ID is proper proof of who you are. I think my kid paid $25 for her fake ID.

I don't have a problem with people needing to show identification to vote BUT......
People get all up in arms (pun intended) about the Constitution.
I would love for those same people to show me where in the Constitution it states someone needs to show "government" or "proper" identification to vote.
I do know there were Amendments that had to be made to allow Black people and women to vote. :?

The secret to voter ID politics is only giving your political allies IDs. The others are in the mail with your uncounted provisional ballot.

i had a fake at the age of 16 (i was an early bloomer)…at that time, AZ DLs were good for something ridiculous like 25 years

Make sure they don't carry it in their wallet/purse when they aren't using it. Pretty sure fake IDs are felonies in some states.

It's a misdemeanor in Kansas and the police do not have the right to search your wallet/purse without reason.

The overall point here is that requiring an ID to vote is ridiculous.

I never needed a fake ID. Better to just find the establishments that don't care rather than try to trick the ones who do care.

Is it 21+ to get into bars in Lawrence?

Illinois was 18+, but they'd stamp or wrist band you a different color so you couldn't buy drinks from the bar.

I had a fake ID before there were pictures on drivers licenses. Those were the days.

That is not what the Constitution says.

You may direct your complaints to the drafters.

I didn't think you guys were that old. ;)
I could very well be wrong but I believe by the early 1980s every state's drivers licenses had photos on them.
When I was a Freshman at KU I was 17. I was about 5-10 and have brown eyes.
My ID said I was 6-4 and had blue eyes. 99% of the time I didn't have a problem getting in to a bar in Lawrence.
