Blow me down:

Tiger Woods has announced that he is leaving Nike.

• 27-year partnership
• $500 million in payments
• Billions in sales generated

One of the most lucrative endorsement deals in sports history is officially over.

It's worth remembering that Nike stood by Tiger during the bad times, (plural), when he wasn't quite the Boy Scout everyone wanted him to be.

...Sources told the platform that the most likely landing spot for the golf superstar is On Holding AG (NYSE:ONON). Woods is expected to take an equity stake in On Holdings AG(ONON) if a deal is worked out, similar to the Swiss company's arrangement with tennis superstar Roger Federer.

The rumblings in the golf world that Nike (NKE) could be ending a partnership with Tiger Woods began late last year. The development would be dramatic since Tiger Woods won all 15 of his major championships wearing a red Nike (NKE) shirt during the Sunday round. The speculation started on the No Laying Up podcast earlier in this week when it was suggested that a major existing golf equipment manufacturer is potentially creating an apparel brand. Nike (NKE) also has golfers Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka, and Scottie Scheffler in its sponsor clubhouse.

Shares of On Holding (ONON) rallied 8.88% in late Monday morning trading, while Nike (NKE) inched up 0.17%. Over the last 52 weeks, ONON is up more than 65% and NKE has peeled off around 18%.

I saw her interview on the morning news. With that crazy mom, the kid never had a chance at a normal life. Sad all around.

it’s crazy that there just happened to not be anyone sitting right where the failure happened

i wonder how many will have recurring nightmares about the event

Not a huge fan but it's more the experience before the flight than it is during.
Air travel has kinda become a nightmare and i'm not sure if it's the airlines cutting costs or people flying on them just being more and more awful.

I just wrote my letter to the board of directors announcing to them that my stock/ownership buy down begins on March 1, 2024. I can take up to 5 years to sell everything. But I think I will sell the remaining in a chunk at 3 years. I will leave from the firm when I am no longer an owner. One partner has stayed on "emeritus", it was a sad way to go out. "Hey, I have time available if anyone needs me to work on a project with them!".....crickets from the rest of the partners.

Besides I have been building a whole nuther, less stressful, next career as art raconteur/huckster and town savior.

I don't need no stinkin day job!

My friend Chip retired last year. He went from being a doctor and beloved member of a community in the Navajo Reservation in AZ to a full time artist. He is busy as fuck, traveling for projects, and seems happy. We have discussed the change in "status" that occurs when professional men retire. We decided neither of us gives a fuck.
