They beat the shit out of Purdue earlier in the year. If they can avoid any really bad losses then I think Nebraska might make the tourney, which is pretty remarkable. Right now they are in Lunardi's Last Four In as a 10 seed.
Nebraska is, historically, a career-killing dead-end job.

Glad to see Hoiberg turn it around.
They are having a very good season.
Their 5 top scorers are all Juniors or Seniors. Makes me think Hoiberg might be on to something.

He was great at the transfer game even before the portal. He should be in his element now.

Hoiberg is just a really good coach. Plays pro style offense and finds mismatches. Not surprising he could turn even a shithole Nebraska situation into a good squad

I have always thought Hoiberg was sort of overrated....but maybe that's just because I really don't like Iowa State.

hoiberg was 3-9 vs Self while at isu, if my math is right
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Hell, that % is probably better than a lot of the Big 12 coaches since Self has been at KU.

So self is over 80 percent against everyone else but only 75 percent against hoiberg

Proof that hoiberg is good right

It couldn't happen to a more deserving team.

I guess by contenders I mean favorites...bc if someone is going to warp my words ( which they will ) then technically EVERYONE in college basketball a contender at this point.

UConn.
UNC.
Purdue.
Houston.
In that order.

Now please, I understand we beat two of those teams, at AFH, and yes, we CAN beat the best teams ( on our home court apparently ) but as Gutter said, can we do it 6 times in a row without an extra amount of luck ( and yes, there's luck in the tourney ) - I dunno, that's why I don't have our team as a favorite.

Here are my others in serious contention in this order:
Bama
Zona
Tennessee
Kansas
Auburn

We weren't the best team in 22 but we got to play the worst 4 seed, a 10 seed to make it to the Final Four, a Nova team without maybe their best player and an 8 seed. It's a tournament that doesn't always find the best teams so a lot can happen.

that’s a good breakdown, but i’m not sold on houston being in tier one, rather than tier two with KU

their defense is obviously stellar, but i just don’t think they are as adept offensively
