Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Feel for airline attendants these days.
Stuff like that makes you wonder if urine the right industry.

Re: The Travel Thread
Annie wants to take trip around the Flint Hills this Spring. Says we only have a few trips left across the State of KS left before we quit that drive so we better visit those "places worth seeing, but not worth slowing down on our way to Colorado" now.
We are going to Lucas, Linsdborg, Volland, Konza Prairie Biological Station.
Trying to figure out a centralized spot to stay and it came down to Manhattan or Salina. After a review of hotels and food options, Salina won hands down. If only the museum of gimmicky video installations was open in Manhattan it might have tipped the scales a little bit.
But the idea of eating our anniversary dinner at Chipotle was just too much.

Freshman in college so not responsible but four of us took a road trip from Lawrence to Lucas.
We hotboxed the car and listened to Pink Floyd and Radiohead all the way there.
Then, stoned as all hell, went to the Garden of Eden for a tour. Holy. Shit.
I'm guessing you are going to Lindsborg to see the 'haunted' Coronado Castle?

Been to the Garden of Eden many times. Probably skip that other than walk around outside this trip.

This place is run by a friend of a friend and it is good market research for our weird little town project.

In Lindsborg we want to see the Birger Sandzen Museum.

Prolly visit Coronado Heights as well.
Won't make it as far west as Scott City on this trip. That will be another trip. We have wanted to see the Fick Fossil Museum

I don't blame them. It should be part of their collective bargaining negotiations.KUTradition wrote: ↑Thu Feb 15, 2024 10:51 ami think there was talk that flight attendants are proposing such a thingShirley wrote: ↑Thu Feb 15, 2024 10:16 am^^^DeletedUser wrote: ↑Thu Feb 15, 2024 9:20 am

Being a stewardess used to be considered glamorous.
Of course, flying was new to nearly everyone, and people got dressed up even to go to the airport to meet someone flying in. And, airlines had strict dress codes and weight limits...and you could smoke on the plane...

Re: The Travel Thread
Rereading that, I don't think I was clear. This applied to the stewardesses, not the customers:
...And, airlines had strict dress codes and weight limits...
That is, like many of the pharmaceutical sales reps who called on my office, the flight attendants looked strangely similar to models.
Probably an accident, right?
