Went to El Jamidor across from Henry Ts. Decent. Salsa and chips, while free, were pretty meh. Main lunch was only 10 bucks for lunch and was good. Tex Mex here is just instantly better than in Maine so very worth it for me.

Didn’t travel far from there for some Thai Siam. Pad See Ewe on point per usual. Call ahead an hour before you want your food.

Hell to the yes.

When I go back to KC I suspend my intermittent fasting and have Tex Mex almost every day, and sometimes twice.

I’d happily do a tour every year of the new Tex Mex spots in Lawrence and KC.

I drove by a new one on the East side of Mass I think between 7th and 8th. Didn’t catch the name.

The piping hot scald yourself plates with the rice and beans and cheesy goodness of whatever combo you got hits hard every time.

Sitting bellied up at the crooked creek for taco Tuesday and local gossip.

Why doesn’t this place do taco Tuesday?

That’s actually not bad.

Creek has 3-4-5 street taco plates, this week barbacoa. 2 plates is a big meal. Plus $3 Lebatts.

Pub has straight up dollar tacos, same price for years, your choice of beef chicken pork or bean. It’s just like gringo style tex-mex and can be pretty hit or miss, but come on, it’s dive bar dollar tacos.

Beers got expensive at the pub tho.

Was at hotel bar and wanted channel changed from golf to KU. Guy next to me asked if I was gonna watch the “Cats”.

“No, Kansas.”

“You’re a Kansas fan? I’m sorry.”

“Kentucky fan? I’d say the same thing for you.”

“Eight championships, Rupp best coach ever.”

“Rupp cheated his way to those. Our coach invented the game.”

It did not begin cordial.

I once again recall the story of being in a happening little dive bar in Eugene, Oregon like 14 years ago.

Chatting up a little cutie over a bucket. Things going well, conversation getting better, flying higher and higher even tho I didn't even have a wingman that night.

Then she asks where I'm from.

Kansas. You?

"Oh, are you a Jayhawks fan?!"

Sure am.

"Well I'm a Kentucky Wildcat, so guess we can't talk any more."

Just walks off and leaves me wondering if that convo would have even gone any better with 85 there.

20 years ago ( boy am I old ) I had great odds with a 'cutie'.
Trouble was, she was a MIZZOU fan, and attended MIZZOU.
I didn't pursue and to this day, am very proud of younger much more driven by sex, me.

That place looks sweet.

Yesterday I went to a pub named after Joshua Chamberlain, the officer who may have saved Gettysburg for the North. Very tavern like. Fireplace and all.

Grabbed a bite at Crystal Park Cantina in Manitou Springs after hiking yesterday.

Damn good food and amazing margaritas.

Off the beaten path from Hwy 24, worth it.

Headed to Boulder today, hoping to find damn good pizza.
