Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

HARD.

That's what happens when you shoot 3-16 3pts and the other team shoots 14-28.

I personally think Creighton would beat the tar out of us on an average night on a neutral court.
They're a juiced up version of Texas Tech.

Some nights I think that, other nights I don't.

Creighton is the epitome of "live by the three, die by the three" and doesn't play much defense at all. Also, their transfer PG is a huge disappointment overall. He had a career night vs. UConn but he has been pretty brutal this year.

But they hold 18,000+ in their arena and sell alcohol there so the crowd was pretty juiced for this game and they actually cheered loud for once.

Their defense is top 25 in adjD.
They returned their 3 best players on a team that was 1 point away from a Final Four last season.

That is why I said an average night.
Our best beats their best.
Our best rarely shows up.

They've got some tough games to close the season @ Marquette and @ Providence.
They still have only 3 losses and 2 of them came when they weren't at full strength and all of them were on the road.

Losing their PG Ryan Nembhard to Gonzaga hurt bad. Ashworth has been a been step back from Nembhard.

And if Creighton is a Top 25 defensive team on KenPom then I have a little less respect for KenPom rankings today. It would be nice to get to play 2 conference games against DePaul and Georgetown, both of whom should be demoted to D2.

They lost a road game vs a ranked team in front of 18,000 drunk fans a month before the tourney starts. They're probably OK.

Kenpom is used by Vegas to set lines.
It's late enough in the season where the data is there to trust the numbers.
Kenpom's data takes the strength of their opponent into count and caps margin of victory so Depaul and Georgetown don't move the needle that much.

I'll take that data set over your opinion even though you live in the state where Creighton plays.

No offense.

None taken. If KU gets them in the tourney, they might hit 20 threes on us the way we have been guarding lately so who knows.

Despite the fact that KU is 8th in Adjusted D on KenPom, it's not the Creighton defense I would be worried about in that matchup. It's ours.

For sure.
Like I said, they are a juiced up version of Texas Tech.
If Tech could hit 10 3's vs us, Creighton could hit 16.
