2023/2024 NCAA Season
Re: 2023/2024 NCAA Season
If KU had beaten ksu this season, with a third string QB, by all means, rush that field.
Absolutely checks the box.

My worthless take.....pdub wrote: ↑Sun Feb 25, 2024 1:02 pm There’s an overhead video of Flip flopping.
The first student tries to avoid him and he half ass tries to shove him away and even looks to pull a Grayson Allen with an oops I didn’t mean to trip him. Instead of trying to avoid the student he leans into him and pushes ( albeit weakly ). That’s where the initial contact happens. Then some asshole student sees that and “pushes” ( not really a push more of a hand place ) Flip in the back and he makes a meal of it.
Watch yourself.

BOTH the student and Flip are to blame - to different degrees.
Watch the video in "real time". Easy to slow something down and then feel someone has more time to think about and react to a situation.
I wouldn't say the student was trying to avoid Flip but I don't think first student was trying to make contact either.
First student was running basically a straight line and at no time altered his course before contact.
Flip tried to push the student away and Flip actually initiated the contact.
I don't think Flip tried to trip the student. Wouldn't he be concerned about inuring HIMSELF in the process if he were to have done that?
Was hard for Flip to avoid the student when Flip's forward momentum was walking towards the Duke bench - and in the process he was going towards the student. Thus, Flip extended his arms to try to push the student away thinking there was going to be inevitable contact.
Student who put his hands on Flip's back - I don't think there was evil intent. Seems more of a manner in which the student saw Flip flopping (see what I did there? ) and was trying to "push" Flip away from possibly falling back in to him.
Bottom line.... I have no issue with people finding fault in what Flip did but I do have a problem when those people completely ignore how insane the court storming was in regards to the manner in which the students did it.

Flip extended his leg out to trip the student from what I see. That’s not a normal walking motion.

Assembly Hall (Indiana) evacuated. Not clear if fire alarm or weather warning.
Tornados in the Chicago area. Bloomington isn't that close

?
What is BME and why did you think Minnesota was going to beat Illinois?
I just looked at the game log and it appears the Gophers had a one point lead with 14 minutes left in the game. I wouldn't have assumed they would win the game. Why did you?
10 top 25 games last night and no upsets. Unless unranked A&M was favored against the Cocks.
I'm happy the purple Cats from Evanston Illinois won their 20th game of the season tonight.
Heartbreaking thing is Senior Ty Berry (son of former KU Football player Tony Berry) will miss the remainder of the season with a torn meniscus. With him, I think Northwestern could have made some noise in the tournament.

I dunno, Gutter. Long day, I turned it on and was hopeful my Gophers were going to win. And I meant BFE.
Defense. Rebounds.

Fwiw, Champaign-Urbana and Lawrence have similar populations.

Land grant.
Re: 2023/2024 NCAA Season
It takes breaking the video down into super slow motion for it to look like that. In real time when you factor in how quick the crowd of fans got on him, I have zero problem with how he reacted and I HATE Duke.
Re: 2023/2024 NCAA Season
Maybe.
I personally think he intentionally ( albeit half ass and a split second decision ) moved his leg out to trip/make contact with that student.
And he plays 30 minutes in a game a few days after having players carry him off the court.
So very Duke.

Re: 2023/2024 NCAA Season
It's more the overreaction from him ( can't even get off the court i'm so hurt, I think it was personal/intentional ) and then, because it is Duke, from the talking heads and the olds ( arrest the fans who storm the court! ).

I don't care that he tripped the kid or pushed him. But he definitely did and it didn't take slow mo for it to look that way.
Re: 2023/2024 NCAA Season
Maybe it wasn't fully intentionally - more, that he did.
It could have just been an instant reaction ( get away from me, you're too close ) but he did trip the fan and push the fan.
Did the fan deserve it for getting to close to Flip?
Probably.
Should Flip pretending to be hurt change the rules on court storming?
No.

Re: 2023/2024 NCAA Season
I was hoping the Gophers would win too. Fuck the Illini. I don't know if Shannon is guilty of what he has been accused of, but it he is, fuck the Illini even more.
I hope your day isn't as long today as it was yesterday. Or, I hope it's longer - if you enjoy it.
How's that for some Gutterism logic?
