I actually really like our bracket. If we can get past our 13 seed I like our chances of making a run. Just praying it's not one of those days where they come out and hit 7 early 3s or some shit

I don’t understand how getting the strongest 13 and 5 are good draws. And if McNeese St upsets the Zags we get a 30-3 team 4th in the nation at 3pt percentage.

Zags are ranked higher than we are in Kenpom.

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

That said, I think stylistically we match up much better with Gonzaga than with McNeese.

Meh, just depends on by what metric you measure. Kenpom, NET, whatever. All of them fail to rank teams in any way that doesn't get shot full of holes from time to time when two teams meet head to head.

Every 4 probably feels like they got a tough draw. Gonzaga isn't noticeably better than any other 5 seed.
We could have gotten Saint Mary's, who beat Gonzaga 2 out of 3. Or Wisconsin, who just beat Purdue a few days ago.

KU has a decent chance to win their first two games. Gonzaga isn't scary at all and neither are two teams who haven't played anyone as tough as KU is when KU decides to actually show up and play energetic defense.

There are teams that are good at things that we have trouble with.

Samford and McNeese are such teams.

Zags are like a good version of TCU who the officials bailed us out of a loss at AFH. They are also 9-1 in their last 10 with wins v St Mary’s and at Kentucky.

I think had we played at Kentucky in February we would lost by double digits.
We would have been better off w Yale or UAB as our 13.

Samford, McNeese, Gonzaga, Kansas.

We are the best team out of that group, regardless of styles. Survive and advance.

Metrics don’t agree with you.
NET, Kenpom, Barttorvik has Zags ahead of us.

If KU and the Zags meetup I’d say they’d open as 1.5 faves or so.

Our metrics are somewhat skewed because KM and HD have missed games.

True.
But will they be healthy?
Bc if not then those metrics also are skewed from when they were.

Yeah, I'd say our halves have fought each other to a draw, metrics-wise.

Good point.

I am assuming they're going to be in the 75-90% range at best?

I would say a full healthy team at this point is around where Kenpom has us. Top 15 or so.

There is a loss in momentum, practice time with Kevin etc.

The draw is intentional; the NCAA will continue to have a hard-on for KU as long as Bill is the HC.
