gotta be better going forward
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Yeah, KU probably doesn't win many games in which it has 18 turnovers. If they can keep that down to 10 in the next game, I'd be thrilled.

We won this game because Self is masterful at game planning with time. I’m sure he’s good on the 1 day rest games, but I hope my feelings about this groups’ ability to grasp what he wants is way way off.

Elmarko was lost much of last night. Play at the end was important, too, but throwing to ghosts not good.

last night really just makes me wonder how different last year might have gone had Self not had the health scare

So, I'm sure it's been mentioned, but...how nice that we won't need a new game thread for tomorrow!

So hard to say. We won the conference tournament with Norm didn't we?

Unfortunately I think it would have gone about the same. Maybe we get by Arkansas but last years team had their issues and deficiencies too.

Oh, good! That way we won't have to manufacture an enthusiastic mood, because it will already be there!

Right?

That pass was to Arterio.

We went over this.
Bill Self certainly is worth 2 points.
You yourself said he's one of the best X's and O's guys out there.

We'd have a far far better chance to beat Arkansas with Self than with Norm ( we didn't win the conference title with Norm -- we got absolutely annihilated to Texas ).
Issue is, next up would have been red hot eventual champ UConn.

I think +/- is a mostly useless stat except for extremes like Elmarko last night.

But I do still see some flashes -- you can see how he has an ability to create a shot somewhere.
He has a very sharp pull up jumper when he gets to that spot.
Just good luck getting him to that spot.

And it's almost always not within the flow of offense. It's iso ball/ball sticking individual offense....and a mid range jumper, which is statistically a not a good shot. Although I think mid range jumpers are useful to open other things up.

If you can hit them, there are statistically a good shot but I know what you mean.
Having an iso guy can be very helpful in situations.
He's far from an 'iso guy' right now. He's kinda far from '[some type of]' guy.
