I don’t think the power will be back for a day maybe two? There’s 200k people up here without power.

No one warned us. Not to the level of this. This is the worst ice storm to hit us since I moved here in 15. I would have moved all my summer stuff back upstairs yesterday had they said major ice storm on the way. Meteorologists did as bad a job as KU 2nd half v Zags.

Car has significant dent in roof. Tree must have bounced slid off and then wrecked my front hood and front fender. I think it’s very much still drivable for short distances but I ain’t gonna be able to lift the hood to check it out.

Without the generator working I’m on wood stove duty—feeding the fire every 3 hours or so.

This week is gonnna suuuuuuuuck.

We're here for our update, pdub! Don't be coy!

How's it going? Hope you're not running out of wood for the fire.

I'm too old and too fat to be shoveling what my neighbors are calling heart attack snow. I seem to have survived.

I'm working at the BUD's office bc it's in the 'big city' and has internet and power.
No power on our street.
Our town is still largely without power.

We have maybe 1/8 a cord of seasoned wood left for this season so we should be alright.

Trees still hanging all over. Wires down.
Put a couple big logs in the wood stove before we left - high just above 40 so we should be fine.
Hoping they get to us today/tonight.

Thankfully I showered for good luck ( i don't know why just felt right ) right before our KU game so i'm not too too rank yet.

Glad to hear you're doing OK. Sounds like there will be plenty on your "to do" list in the coming days. Hopefully being able to work outside will soften that blow.

I made a lot of mistakes weather wise this weekend…though the generator kicking on me I don’t think was my fault. I changed the oil this summer and ran it for ten minutes.

If I had done that and it screwed up now, I'd feel betrayed.
