Chiefs Offseason 2024
Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
Looks like it will reduce this year's cap hit. Wish they had kept Gay now.
Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
I don’t think it will.
It’s a 2 plus million bigger hit this season.

Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
It something like 2.5 million more which isn’t prohibitive from another signing if they think they need one.
The question is are the Chiefs set with having Suma compete with Wanya at LT or will they hedge with Donovan?
What is up with Niang as well? Backup to Jawaan?

Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
I figured the Suamataia pick meant they didn’t want to give Smith meaningful money. I think they’ll be comfortable going into the year with Niang being the fourth tackle. They are clearly building toward being ok losing at least one of Smith and Humphrey.pdub wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 5:59 am It something like 2.5 million more which isn’t prohibitive from another signing if they think they need one.

And justifiably so.
Those guys ( Smith / Humphrey ) are some of the better at their positions in the league so they won't come cheap on resign.
I also guess, looking at Kelce's contract now, is that he's figuring to only play 2 more years, and he'll just get a pay bump for doing so.
Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
I think all of that is right. I don’t see Kelce hanging on when he’s no longer good. I think he’s already done just about everything he can to at least have no one clearly BETTER, all-time.pdub wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 10:03 amThey are.jfish26 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 30, 2024 9:05 amI figured the Suamataia pick meant they didn’t want to give Smith meaningful money. Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

"100%" is a lot.
...But the proposal includes key differences from a typical STAR bond district. Most significantly, the proposal allows for 100% of the project to be financed through STAR bonds, instead of the typical 50%. The term of the bond would run 30 years.
“This would allow 100% of the project to be paid for with bonds and they could be up to 30-year bonds,” Tarwater said, adding that the Kansas secretary of commerce would have room to negotiate...
“The Electoral College is DEI for rural white folks.”

So if this happens, you're telling me all tax revenue from anything stadium related goes straight to paying off the bonds?
And Kansas isn't benefiting at all financially for 20-30 years?
And the billionaire Hunt family doesn't have to spend a dime?
BUT the Chiefs are in Kansas and not in MIZZOU?
I'm in!

Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
Of note, not at all interested in bringing the Royals to Kansas unless I guess it was juuust over state lines like around where Kemper is...but even then, nah.
Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
Royals and the K should never part.
Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
If it were my ideal it’s Royals in MIZZOU downtown and Chiefs at the Legends.

Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
If he was actually involved in this Chiefs should find a way to cut him.
If he was involved clearly he is a moran and can’t learn.

Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
Involved or not, the Rice shit (car incident) has to hit home hard with Reid.
If he was involved and actually assaulted someone (who didn't assault him first) in a club at around 2:00am, he's got to be done. Right?

Re: Chiefs Offseason 2024
I’d be done.
If he is charged with assault it means he’s on the absolute dumbass spectrum and can’t have that on the team.
Here is the problem though: as we learned with Hunt some NFL team will pick him up and benefit from his skillset on the field.
