This is prob the most significant verdict.

But it’s not the only verdict, nor the first.

I kinda wonder if even a “guilty” might just sorta come and go like the others sorta have?

Trump has a [x%] chance to win in November.

That means, thanks to (among other things) foreign influence, feeble prosecutors, activist judges and complicit media, there is a [x%] chance this will be the only verdict (at least that has a chance of being enforced).

I do not think this one will come and go (and I do not think it is really useful to compare this verdict to the conclusions of civil trials; this is something altogether different).

I put the odds that he is convicted of anything before election day at + 900.
We have a corrupt justice system.

if there isn’t a conviction here, there won’t be one for at least another 5 years (if at all) if he gets himself elected

the georgia rico case is a mess, and all the federal charges will be dropped

He could be convicted in this one today.

And here's what's frustrating - a non-conviction on this one would be the opposite of the corruption of the justice system. It would be the system working as we have designed it to work. Trump is entitled to the same protections, and should be held to the same standards, as any of us.

But this is where Democrats run into the issue of bringing a good-faith knife to a gunfight.

The problem is that the corruption that is evident in the handling of all of the other criminal cases gives this one outsized importance. This is almost certainly the only one that we can reasonably expect to even be heard prior to the election (meaning this is the only one that we can be SURE will ever reach verdict).

BTW, does anyone know if the Russians have completed their invasion and takeover of Ukraine? Because I haven't heard much about it lately.
I guess I feel differently - I think this verdict is a signal event.

Can ANY institution hold up against the Trump/MAGA sickness?

If he is found guilty, I think the wall falls and some of DC’s predictions might bear out.

If not, I think November becomes for all of the marbles (for most of our lifetimes, anyway).
I don't disagree with any of that, I'm just sick of Trump 24/7/365 x 8 ____ing years, and counting.
Breaking News! There are other things going on in the world other than Trump falling asleep in court today.

Not to mention what will ensue, if he skates.

He would be found guilty of causing the falsification of business records in connection with one or more crimes.

To at least ~ 46% of the American population, it won't mean anything other than Trump is persecuted by the "deep state", and they have to try harder, i.e., use violence along with voter suppression, etc., to remedy the situation before liberals take over completely. Facts mean nothing to his cult.

I would have said Cinnabon, but when it comes to malls, Orange Julius is the same thing, only different.

I still think a conviction here matters. And if you peel even 1% away from Trump, he's drawing deader than he is now (and he may already be drawing dead).

Concealing the fact of the affair and the payment in order to get elected to the big chair.

I hope you're right, and I do agree that it matters to a few % of Americans. Not that i think he'll do even 1 day in jail if he is found guilty, or, that he and his cult will accept the results even if Biden beats him by 10 million votes in the popular election.
