Lol. I was just getting the Bron boys riled up with that one. The goat argument is tiring, but LeBrons career resume is ridiculous. Is he the goat? Idk. But he probably is the best all around player of all time
This sort of thing is why I come back to him fairly obviously being alone at the top; the counter-arguments require somehow parsing between “greatest of all time” and “best all around player of all time”.

This is very clearly where we’re headed with Mahomes also.

Unless he somehow gets past Brady, there will be legions and legions of Brady stans (and general, the-best-music-really-WAS-the-music-that-was-popular-when-I-was-in-high-school-type, chuds) who rely on this same tortured distinction.

Even though it is plainly obvious to the eye that Mahomes is simply on a different planet as a player.

I'm not smart enough to know, what is the difference between a guy who was listed at 6'-6" (more like 6'5") and weighed between 200 and 215 pounds, whining about bigger and stronger guys legitimately trying to injure him vs. a guy listed at 6'-9" between 240 and 260 pounds, built like a truck, whining about smaller and weaker guys giving him basically love taps.
Can someone please explain it to me? Thanks in advance.

MJ started the whine to the refs movement. LeBron is just a bigger stronger and evolved version of that. With the longevity to do it for over 2 decades.

Pretty much every player in today's NBA whines non stop, except Kawhi. But then again, why whine when you're sitting out most games to rest.

I think people should take two things in to account.
1. What I mentioned between Jordan and LeBron and how they reacted to physicality - and why.
2. In LeBron's defense, the man does get fouled a shit load and the refs don't call it. I don't fault him for complaining about that - when he is in fact legitimately fouled and it isn't called.

2 is a much bigger issue than most MJ gobblers will admit.
If he was Jordan's size, taking the same contact, he'd be at the free throw line probably 20-30% more than he is.

LeBron longevity and overall statistics are 2nd to none. Mj was really dominant at times. But he also took breaks and stepped away from the game and recharged, something I don't hear mentioned enough in these arguments

I don't care so much about that - whatever "longevity" line needs to be crossed, has been crossed. By both of them. I think what's not talked about enough is just how much bigger Bron is than MJ was.

He scores through contact so well.

could you imagine the tears if bron would’ve had to face the bad boy pistons?

you think he gets hard fouls now?

Those bad boy Pistons oooh look out.
Lambier was pudgy. Probably their strongest guy, Vinnie Johnson, was 7 inches shorter than LeBron. Rodman was 210 lbs.

LeBron weighs more than any of them ( 250 ) and LeBron is pure muscle.

Mike, when he was getting knocked around by the Pistons, was barely 200 lbs.

With the bad boys it wasn't so much the size as it was the constancy of it.

NBA Draft evaluator gives feedback on Kansas’ Johnny Furphy and Kevin McCullar
Furphy has until 10:59 p.m. Central on May 29 to remove his name from consideration for the 2024 draft pool if he wants to rejoin KU for his sophomore season.

Meanwhile, his KU teammate Kevin McCullar is also preparing for the draft. McCullar didn’t participate in the NBA Combine because he’s continuing to recover from a bone bruise in his left knee.

Kansas guard/forward Johnny Furphy

Woo’s draft projection: Mid-1st rounder

Woo’s thoughts: I think he’s in a pretty good position. Seeing him up close in these workout settings, I think it’s interesting in seeing his level of athleticism and his smoothness. He has a pretty good skill level with the ball. I think his shot is in a fairly good place for someone who is still super young.

Looking at his frame and his face, the natural assumption is that he may not be done growing or will definitely get a lot stronger. The idea there is (having) an upside often helps guys in this process. There’s room for him to get better athleticism-wise, but I do think he’s relatively athletic for his size.

What are his biggest weaknesses?

Woo: Defensively, he’s not ready for the NBA right now. He may never be amazing on defense, but I think he has the size and he’s a smart enough player that some of that will come with seasoning.

What’s Furphy’s ceiling? Is there a player comp?

Woo: He has the ability to be a starting-caliber player. There isn’t a comp I have at the top of my head.

Kansas guard Kevin McCullar

Woo’s draft projection: Late 1st-round to early 2nd-round pick

Woo’s thoughts: Obviously, being hurt doesn’t help you in a time like this. NBA teams have to try to answer: How real were the first few months of the season? I think people viewed him as a more two-way contract guy in the last couple of years, which is why he went back to school.

When you see an older guy that’s heavily usage-based — skill too — but his efficiency isn’t markedly better. You have to ask — is this guy that much better, or is the talent level worse and he’s just an older guy asked to do more? Trying to separate that is the challenge with him.

He’s also still a very average shooter overall, even with the hot 3-point shooting start.

What’s his projected role in the NBA?

Woo: I think the bigger overhead thing is that he’s relatively proven. He can do enough both offensively and defensively, that he probably is at least a useful player to have off the bench.

If you are in the 20s (in the NBA Draft) and you are looking at the experienced college guys, you want someone who can contribute early on. He’s a guy that can help you

He's going later in the 1st round so nobody knows how the draft will shake out at that point. And I always said I thought he'd stay in the draft, he was just gave returning to school a lot stronger consideration than initially expected
