^^^ No shit.

And, in answer to Ousdahl's post: I kinda wonder if even a “guilty” might just sorta come and go like the others sorta have?

To at least ~ 46% of the American population, it won't mean anything other than Trump is persecuted by the "deep state", and they have to try harder, i.e., use violence along with voter suppression, etc., to remedy the situation before liberals take over completely. Facts mean nothing to his cult.
I still think a conviction here matters. And if you peel even 1% away from Trump, he's drawing deader than he is now (and he may already be drawing dead).
I hope you're right, and I do agree that it matters to a few % of Americans. Not that i think he'll do even 1 day in jail if he is found guilty, or, that he and his cult will accept the results even if Biden beats him by 10 million votes in the popular election.

(I rode my bike 30 miles in 90, "feels like 100", degrees heat yesterday, so I'm sore and tired, and maybe that's why I'm so cynical and not my usual optimistic self...?)
I think we are well-conditioned to expect Trump to skate on absolutely everything at all times.

Which is precisely why this one matters so much - I think people NEED to see that our institutions are capable of holding him accountable.

And I think he's well past the point of no return on his narcissistic decompensation, and (in combination with everything else) this really could push him over the cliff.

i'm not up to date on dt's indiscretions. but i would predict "payng a hooker" to be pretty far down his naughty list.

Fortunately, that is not what he is being charged with.

so. he is being charged with "denying that he paid a hooker?'

He's being charged for NOT having to deny (or admit) it in the first place.

The election interference and fraud should alarm anyone. The Russian masters and treason should have alarmed the sentient.

this is dumb, even for you
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Trump Trial Update!

Breaking News!

According to CNN's "Jury Deliberation" timer, the jury has been deliberating 12 minutes.

But no, we're not. We are talking about cheating to win the big chair. That's the whole point here.

I know Fox News isn't telling you this, but the cost of this particular cheating is measured (among so many other things lost) in six figures' worth of American lives.

Not my fault you can't see more than a couple inches in front of your face. Whether you know it or not, you are a victim of the crimes with which Trump has been charged.

Frankly, I think it's significantly worse, the grander the scheme you contextualize it with.

I just meant in regard to all of the problems in the world. Whether Trump did this particular thing the jury is deliberating isn't very high up on my list.

I would probably feel more like this, if the other criminal processes to which Trump is presently subject (1) were not so limited to begin with, and (2) were not, for varying reasons, clearly pointed for resolution (if ever) not prior to the upcoming election.

I think the rule of law is holding on by a thread, and each squandered opportunity to hold this asshole accountable for anything, ever, is adding one more bowling ball to the hook at the bottom of that thread.

question isn't whether or not he did it, or whether or not the evidence exists ti prove he did it. It'd whether or not his people managed to get to at least 1 jury member.
