Furphy will be about as memorable of a jayhawk as Kelly oubre. We still claim them, but barely remember them playing here. Oubre was another guy that struggled early his freshman year, then hit his stride later. Played on a team that didn't accomplish much by KU standards

I'll be shocked if Furphy ends up as good as Oubre has been in the NBA.

(I know you weren't comparing them in that way)

Lambier was pudgy. Probably their strongest guy, Vinnie Johnson, was 7 inches shorter than LeBron. Rodman was 210 lbs.

LeBron weighs more than any of them ( 250 ) and LeBron is pure muscle.

Mike, when he was getting knocked around by the Pistons, was barely 200 lbs.
JFC, you truly are all in on LeBron….

No.
I just try to get the MJstans/Lebron haters back to reality.
The statements above are facts—LeBron is bigger than any of the Pistons on that team and MJ was pretty light at the time.

LeBron would handle playing Detroit of the 90s. He one of the best, arguably THE best ( I didn’t say absolutely here take a deep breath ) basketball players to ever play.

So tell us, where does the "rumor mill" have him going to?
He's going later in the 1st round so nobody knows how the draft will shake out at that point. And I always said I thought he'd stay in the draft, he was just gave returning to school a lot stronger consideration than initially expected
"he was just gave returning to school a lot stronger consideration than initially expected".
Initially expected by who/whom?
Seriously, what the heck is wrong with you? Why do you have an insistent need to make shit up?

Yes, you did say, " I dont expect furphy back."
Good for you but you also said....

"Rumor mill has it the likelihood of furphy pulling out of nba draft is beginning to look favorable".
AND
"And furphy coming back is picking up momentum".
AND
"But what once seemed like he was gone for good, there is now less certainty".
AND
"The feedback is making him consider coming back to KU for another year, more than he originally thought".

NONE of that was true. All BULL-SHIT that YOU made up or got from a source or multiple sources that are/were less reliable than Kenny Gregory from the free throw line.

I happen to agree with you that LeBron would "handle" playing Detroit in the 90s (and late 80s) and heck, I pointed out in one of my posts there is a big difference between body sizes between Jordan and LeBron (and differences in abuse that could be taken by Jordan and LeBron) but....

These guys weren't exactly small and the Pistons played "dirty". Not just "physical". Physically, I think LeBron would have handled the Pistons better (much?) than Jordan did but I also feel the constant abuse he would take would get to LeBron.

Don’t know why you needed to include photos of several guys who wouldn’t start or even be on a roster today.

The best arguments for MJ are:
- 6 and 0 in the finals.
- Iconic figure who transformed the game.
- elite competitive mindset

The best arguments for LeBron are:
- most points ever
- lots of finals appearances and 4 titles
- leader in numerous cumulative post season stat categories.
- longevity. Top 5 player for 2 decades straight.

Because we were talking about the "Bad Boys". They played for the Pistons during the "Bad Boys" era.
You don't think Aquirre, Mahorn, Dawkins, and Laimbeer, would be on NBA rosters today? Ok, I disagree.
Before you tell me something that is of value - such as Laimbeer wasn't a very good college player and was a 3rd round draft pick, I'll tell you he was an All-Star multiple times and led the league in rebounding at least one season.
Ok, Mahorn I'll admit is maybe a question mark. That being said, I could be wrong but I think Mahorn was a 1st or 2nd team All NBA Defensive player at least once. Guy served a purpose and played a role - well.
Dawkins and Aquirre I know you think would be on an NBA roster today.

This is the draft thread. LeBron was drafted higher than Jordan.
Here is a crazy question. If Lebron was in the 1984 draft, would he have gone #1 - and if Jordan was in the 2003 draft, would he have gone #1?
If we are discussing arguments in regards to GOAT, there are more valid arguments that could be made that would support each guy.
I'll say it until I am blue in the face, I have zero problem with people feeling LeBron is the GOAT and I wouldn't tell them I think they are wrong. Just as I feel the same way about Jordan and his supporters.

poor Wilt
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

In 10 years there will probably be people saying Luka is the GOAT.

As time passes, opinions change, influenced by the age of the person giving the opinion.

Wilt has gone from the greatest to not even in some people's top 7 or 8 players.

Maybe.

I think the game has changed a lot. Some of those old guys wouldn't get a sniff of the NBA in this era.

Just as some of the finesse players from this era probably maybe wouldn't survive in that era.

Lulz!!!!
pdub said, "or even be on a roster today".
Not only would Laimbeer be on a roster, 1980s Laimbeer would start for more than half the teams in the league.
