Yes, I am!

Are we making progress?!

And I enjoy this site as a whole, tho I think the petty personal putdowns particularly in this thread are a bummer.

I mean jeez trad, if you really want me to choke on a dick, ok fine, but it’s gonna cost you $20 dollars.

Isn't he almost 40?

I understand being lonely and needing some attention, but there has to be better ways to accomplish that feeling other than this.

I may go hit a quick bucket before my afternoon tee time to avoid whatever comes next around here.

Umm…has it even occurred to you guys that maybe discussing war current events in the war tread is actually not inappropriate?

But it’s pretty ironic that trad is the one going for “choke on a dick” sorts of putdowns while also accusing me of being childish.

And maybe even more ironic that illy goes for age and work ethic smack talk while also spending multiple days a week playing golf.

But the biggest irony of all is prob illy lecturing me about being fed propaganda, while he and a few others here so relentlessly ridicule me for posting anything that even slightly deviates from the prescribed narratives.

That’s all to say, I’m not sure the one/s melting down here is/are me.

WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden announced Friday that Israel has proposed a three-part plan that would ultimately lead to a permanent cease-fire in the Gaza Strip, as well as the release of all hostages who have been held there for the last eight months.

Speaking from the White House, Biden said that the proposal comes after intensive diplomacy carried out by his team. The plan has been relayed to Hamas via Qatar, one of the main mediators in negotiations.

The plan's first phase would start with six weeks of a full and complete cease-fire, including the withdrawal of Israeli forces from populated areas of Gaza, and the release of women and children being held hostage, Biden said during the surprise announcement. This initial stage would also include a surge of humanitarian assistance, with 600 trucks carrying aid into Gaza every day.

Biden said that, in that first phase, Israel and Hamas would negotiate a permanent cease-fire and admitted that there could be major hurdles.

"I’ll be honest with you, there are a number of things to be negotiated to move from phase one to phase two," he said.

The president said that phase two wouldn't begin until all agreements are reached. That second stage would involve the release of all living hostages in exchange for Palestinians imprisoned in Israel.

The final phase would be the start of a major reconstruction plan in Gaza and the return of the remains of deceased hostages to their families...

Come on trad. Condescension's just not a good look on you, nor on anyone else.

but, feel free to go ahead and play me as dumb as you think I am, and please explain:

what about the deal is not the same? What details am I struggling with?

cuuuz a comprehension of the reading suggests, at the very least, there sure are a lot of similarities...

(your unlinked article in italics. my linked AP article in quotes)

In the first phase, Israeli troops would withdraw from Gaza in a series of timed steps.
The military would pull back from a coastal road beginning on the third day after Palestinian prisoners start getting released.

Then, on day 22, Israeli forces would leave central Gaza, east of the main highway, to a nearby area along the border.
Displaced Palestinians could return to their home neighborhoods in the north.

Israel would not fly military or reconnaissance planes over Gaza for 10 hours each day, and for 12 hours on the days of release of detainees and prisoners.

HUMANITARIAN AID

Starting from the first day of the cease-fire, Israel would allow “intensive and sufficient quantities” of humanitarian aid, with 600 trucks entering Gaza daily — including 50 fuel trucks — with 300 trucks allocated to hard-hit northern Gaza.

There would also be supplies provided for temporary housing, and repairs to Gaza’s damaged infrastructure.
The president said that phase two wouldn't begin until all agreements are reached. That second stage would involve the release of all living hostages in exchange for Palestinians imprisoned in Israel.
PHASE 2
The parties would need to negotiate the exact terms of the second phase, which would also last 42 days.

Under the current proposal, Hamas could release all the remaining men, both civilians and soldiers. In return, Israel could free an agreed-upon number of Palestinian prisoners and detainees.

The releases won’t occur until the “sustainable calm” takes effect and all Israeli troops withdraw from Gaza.

The final phase would be the start of a major reconstruction plan in Gaza and the return of the remains of deceased hostages to their families...
PHASE 3
The third and final stage would include the release of the remains of deceased hostages still in Gaza, more prisoners held by Israel, and the start of a five-year reconstruction plan. This is also when Hamas wants an end to the blockade on Gaza by Israel in cooperation with Egypt.

The plan says that Hamas would agree not to rebuild its military arsenal.

I tried copy and pasting your quote, but all it yielded was more choke-on-dick porn.

I kid. But for real, it's also not that difficult to simply include a link to sources you quote. If you could please do so, that'd be great.

and indeed, nobody said there weren't similarities. What you did say tho, is that "it obviously wasn't the same deal," apparently despite the similarities. I asked what about the deal wasn't the same, and you did not provide an answer.

Can I try asking again?

Had lunch yesterday with family from Israel.
I didn't realize the extent of what is happening in Northern Israel right now.
My cousin's husband (born in Israel) has a friend who is the Mayor of a town in Northern Israel that had a population of around 30,000. 27,000 people have evacuated because of the Hezbollah "attacks". Apparently it's really bad.
People in Israel are pissed at the government for many reasons. One of which is the government isn't helping the people who have been evacuated. They are mad that Israel isn't retaliating against Lebanon where Hezbollah is launching the attacks from.
I have another relative who is currently in Israel and he is in Northern Israel. He basically said the same thing/s.
I have ZERO problem with people in the USA who are upset with what is happening to the innocent people in Gaza but I have a BIG problem that those same people don't say shit in regards to what is happening to innocent people in Israel - BY TERRORISTS who hate the USA.

What a shame.

For the sake of better understanding the situation, fwiw Israel has been bombing Lebanon for (at least) months now too, as has been posted in this thread.
