I don’t think we can (in the context of rebounding anyway) call this team athletic, particularly in the frontcourt.

Hunter and Zach are minus athletes. KJ’s athleticism has yet to translate to even average rebounding. And lord knows what (or how much) we’ll get out of Bidunga.
Rebounding will be a key to our success. Defensive rebounding.

Bidunga will play 10-12mpg at most, unless we find a way to play he and Hunter together. Which seems unlikely at this point, but Self and Co. have all summer to try to get Bidunga ready for that.

I think it's almost a certainty that HD plays 30mpg. Same with KJ. Same with DH. I am good with that. I think we have the pieces around them to make that work.

What we really need is for Storr to get into a groove with playing off of DH and KJ, because those two are willing and effective passers when at their best. He needs to be our go to guy. I do not think we want it to be HD, but maybe I am wrong and he will develop that over the summer.

HD was very good last year. Almost nobody spends time with Self and doesn't get better. I expect that we will see an improved HD.

Self gets #3 next year. Place your bets now.
The problem is that I felt that optimistic LAST year!

I just hope, with Storr, that he can be a guy who can get buckets on his own. Don’t need big numbers. Just someone who can get his when our stuff is stalling.

Agree. He and Zeke need to be able to do that.

That, or HD needs to take a huge step when it comes to throwing it to him when we need it most.

Hunter isn't athletic, but led the big 12 in rebounding. He's over 7 foot and understands positioning. everyone else is athletic and versatile. We have a big group of long athletic guys competing with eachother for minutes, and the depth for guys to be rested. You bet your ass they'll be rebounding hard

That’s all fine, as far as it goes, but it’s not actually responsive to what I said.

Robinson committed to Kentucky.
Seems like we're probably done? Unless Self takes a run at Wooga Poplar.

That’d be rad if Elmarko is ready enough to start.

He has the benefit of a year in the system. Plus already started like half a season anyway.

Mayo Griffen Elmarko. Toss up at that spot.

that’s a good battle to have

Griffen seems like a Bill Self kind of guy. Bill tends to give up a little on offense in exchange for a lock down defender, although last year may have swayed him in the other direction a little.

I think Griffen starts but, all depends on who works hardest over the summer I suppose

in two years at Bama, Griffen .354 on 325 attempts - .301 on 136 in '23 and .392 on 189 last year

in 23 at St. Johns, Storr .404 on 94 attempts
in 24 at Wiscy, Storr .320 on 150 attempts

considering how bad this lineup needs shooting, kinda expect both to start

100%.

I have Elmarko starting at the moment, simply due to familiarity, but I would not expect him to be the closer. Griffen or Mayo likely the closer at that spot due to shooting.
