How handy that there's video from just last month of Trump saying that the only two people with posting access to his accounts are himself and Scavino.

There is barely even an effort at denying any of this, anymore. He simply is openly embracing authoritarianism, because it tickles his taint.

New Apostolic Reformation
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

We just need about 1,000,000 more people like that in governmental and civic roles, whether I agree with their political leanings or not.

Christian Nationalism is just an effort to use God as a shield for hatred, bigotry and the selfish pursuit of power and money. Some people seem to believe that if you say you want it "because of your religion" then your argument is unimpeachable.

right

as if adhering to a religion makes one immune from corruption, or unethical/immoral actions

So many threads this could go into. Trump is a scumbag pedo who surrounds himself with other scumbag pedos; the church is full of scumbag pedos, etc...

https://www.cnn.com/2024/06/17/us/rober ... index.html

"Dallas-area megachurch pastor Robert Morris admitted to “inappropriate sexual behavior with a young lady” in the 1980s after a woman accused him of molesting her when she was 12 years old, according to a statement obtained by CNN affiliate WFAA.

The woman, Cindy Clemishire, told WFAA the abuse started on Christmas Day in 1982 and continued until 1987, when she told her parents. The Wartburg Watch, a church watchdog blog, first reported her account Friday.

Morris, a senior pastor at Gateway Church and a member of then-candidate Donald Trump’s Evangelical Executive Advisory Board during the 2016 campaign, did not mention the name or age of the girl in his statement but said the inappropriate behavior lasted several years."

Gee, what a surprise, the child molester is a "spiritual advisor" of POS Donald Trump. This is only a partial list, click on the @patriottakes link and you'll see any number of other prominent Republicans smiling and shaking the child molester's hand. And, although I haven't included it here, there's another link on twitter where back ~ 1990 when it first came to light, Morris' wife blames the 12 y/o girl for being "flirtatious", as an excuse for what her husband did. These people are ____ing sick.

If you notice a pattern here, it's that they are all holier than thou Republicans who would't hesitate to force their religious views on all of us if they had the chance. And with today's SCOTUS, if Trump's elected, that "chance" will be at hand.

Speaking of "choice", if only we had a "choice" in November...right?

MEGA thread: Gateway megachurch Pastor Robert Morris confessed to molesting a 12 year old girl in the 1980s.

Here is a giant thread showing Morris is a big supporter of Trump and MAGA Republicans.

I'm throughly confused. Based on their current ideas/beliefs, I would think many/most/all of today's Christian Republicans would/should hate Jesus and who he was and stood for. Yet many of today's Christian Republicans are strong "followers" of Christ. Or at least they say they are.
Can someone make that make sense for me?

if Jesus were to come back today, they (and the psychs of this country) would go straight to Hell, as it would seem highly likely that he’d appear as an immigrant

And, add to that, although not on a religious basis, can you name any republican president over the last century who could win the nomination for president from today's Republican Party?

Contrast that with, imo, that any of the Democratic presidents over the last century would be competitive in being nominated again by their party today.
