NBA draft
Re: NBA draft
Also if Bronny is there towards the end of the draft, the Lakers are absolutely picking him.

Re: NBA draft
I sort of thought the Bucks might snag him in the 1st.
I don't know how to feel about Furphy. I just don't really give a shit about a lot of the 1 year players. 48hrs ago I thought he was making the right choice. Now? Not sure.
Then I wonder....are we better with Storr and the 1 or 2 other guys we got due to the void left by Furphy? Not sure.
Furphy is a weird case. I sort of think he shined because of how bad we sucked at the few good things he provided....the NBA not having 1st round interest makes me wonder if they don't think the same thing.

Re: NBA draft
If I'm the Celtics, and I'm one pick ahead of the Lakers, do I just go ahead and get Bronny bc:
A. Maybe I can get some draft comp with a trade?
B. Fuck the Lakers

C. both of the above
(ransom-esque)
(ransom-esque)
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

"If" "If" "If" "If"pdub wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2024 11:45 amIf he signs a two way contract, I doubt it.RainbowsandUnicorns wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2024 11:36 am Regardless of all that, the bottom line is, most likely Furphy will be making substantially more money in the NBA this upcoming season than he will have made if he returned to KU.
We both keep saying/implyin "If".
Yes, "if" he signs a two way contract - there is a good chance he wouldn't be making "substantially more" in the NBA this upcoming season than if he stayed at KU.
Unless...... "IF" "IF" IF" "IF" (now I am going to throw in the words perhaps and might) he perhaps might sign some endorsement contracts he wouldn't have signed if he stayed at KU.
I could stretch this out all day in regards to "ifs" but the bottom line is that I hope you know I am not disagreeing with you so much as I am just coming up with "ifs" that are different than your "ifs".

The Knicks should draft Bronny at 38.
Re: NBA draft
Milwaukee passes on Furphy.
If Furphy goes to Portland, he'll be in a shitty situation currently - bad team - but maybe get more minutes?

There is a huge difference between a 1st and 2nd round contract. Looks like pdub got into thatRainbowsandUnicorns wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2024 6:26 am"Bet he wishes he had come back".... Why do you say that?randylahey wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2024 10:30 pm Ouch furphy. Was at the green room tonight too. Bet he wishes he had come back now, should have
Yes, he MAY have been a first rounder next season. That I understand.
I think you are a guy who is somewhat in tune to the NBA, and my guess is you know there are guys who went in the 2nd round last year that got guaranteed contracts for a just little less than what guys who went in the 1st round got. Am I right?
So then if that's what happens with him, why would he wish he came back?
Furphy was in position to improve his stock coming back, self has proven his ability to develop guys, and furphy already has some coveted tools at the next level

Re: NBA draft
The path of a 2nd rounder or undrafted player is a tough one. There are guys that start there and have long successful careers, but they are exceptions
Re: NBA draft
Furphy to the Spurs with Pop.
Pop an all time great but kinda loosing his touch down there.
There are worse cities than San Antonio. There are better.**
**Scratch that.
Pacers just sent some $$ to the Spurs to draft Furphy.
Kevin Pritchard lands a Jayhawk - Johnny gets to play with Haliburton.
I'd slightly prefer San Antonio to Indianapolis as a city.
Both are kinda meh.

Pop has some Donald Trump and Joe Biden in him.
Devonte' went 34 (to the Hawks) and Furphy went 35 and they are on the same team. For now.

Re: NBA draft
Pacers are pretty deep - not that Furphy would be finding time on many teams - but he definitely won't there in the near future.

Here come your Celts.
Bronny to the Lakers? If not I assume they have a UFA plan in place.
