DUDE! Why didn't you tell us you met Chuck Sheen?
Who by the way, resembled a cross between Donald Trump and Joe Biden when you met him.

Ok, so WHO demands thier resignation?
Probably not the January 6th folks.
I mean, I’ve thought about the strategy of having the three liberals resign so that Biden can appoint three people in their 20s. But then you find yourself remembering, “oh right, if Trump wins he will simply hand-wave whomever he wants off the Court anyway, and that will somehow be cool.”RainbowsandUnicorns wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 7:10 amProbably not the January 6th folks.
But..... If there was similar performance - by much different people - to a greater extreme - what if any bearing MIGHT it have?
While I doubt it will get to that point, I admit I am a bit concerned that it could/might happen one day in the not too distant future.

There is no mechanism that allows Trump to do that. I get everyone is freaked out by the Supreme Court's recent ruling but it doesn't mean that the President can literally do anything. The ruling makes a President much more powerful but it doesn't turn him into a damn wizard. Let's not lose our minds.jfish26 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 7:51 amI mean, I’ve thought about the strategy of having the three liberals resign so that Biden can appoint three people in their 20s. I think this is a pretty naive view.twocoach wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 10:21 amThere is no mechanism that allows Trump to do that. My opinion is that - IF you can make it a clean break with Joe leading front and center - nearly ANY change at the top of the ticket would be a significant boost. You would be cutting the single MOST effective argument against the ticket off, right at the knees.twocoach wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 10:33 am Eh, OK? I assume you're implying that Harris cannot beat Donald Trump. It is this nonsensical fear that has us in this spot where early primary voters decided that Biden was the "best chance" to beat Trump.
Do you think that suburban women are more likely to vote for Joe Biden, Donald Trump or Kamala Harris?
Do you think that African Americans are more likely to vote for Joe Biden, Donald Trump or Kamala Harris?
The whole "but she isn't very popular" is corny. Virtually anyone is better than our current choices.
Your preference may be to worry about every little thing. Mine is not. Maybe I am just talking myself into it, hoping it's true. I don't know. My mental health cannot sit here and wrong my hands over every doomsday scenario, I just can't.jfish26 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 10:36 amI think this is a pretty naive view.twocoach wrote: ↑Wed Jul 03, 2024 10:21 amThere is no mechanism that allows Trump to do that. Can't we fairly easily list out a dozen major things you can't do, that Trump did, and got away with?
And that was BEFORE he had a pliant Court, and BEFORE he had the right (least principled) people around him.
