I generally enjoy living in Minnesota, I like our house although it's a lot smaller than the one we sold to move here. Neighbors are great. I get to see the grandkids all the time. The two year old is a blast, the four year old has a lot of mean-girl in her.

There's a couple things, my tomato plants ain't doing great. I'll get a few, probably, but it ain't like growing them in hot, sunny KC. There are also a LOT of crows here. And they're freaking obnoxious. Like Oussie level obnoxious. They. Will. Not. Shut. Up.

Funny how this didn't make the Maris In The News on her website.

I am noticing that the Party of Family Values doesn't seem to have many of the same family values that I have. I must be doing "family values" wrong...

Rode my bike to get some hard salami. Insert your assumption/s and joke/s here.......
Got to Schneider's.
Order taker - Can I help you?
Gutter - Hi, can I please get a half pound of hard salami?
Girl asks the owner who was standing next to her if they had hard salami. He said yes.
Girl - How much do you want?
Gutter - Half pound.
Girl - Quarter pound?
Gutter - (Thinking WTF!!!!????) No, half pound please.
She charged me $8.94. I handed her a $10. Told her to throw the change in the tip plastic container.

I'm watching a dude eyeball the salami as he's preparing my order and putting it in the wrapping paper and foil. They have a scale but he doesn't use it. First time I have been there and they haven't used a scale. I'm 100% convinced he gave me about 1/4 pound when he wrapped it all up and put it in a bag. I'm thinking, do I say anything? I didn't. I was a little annoyed riding my bike home thinking about it.
Got home, put it on a scale, BINGO! 8 ounces (half pound) on the dot! Almost made me want to ride my bike back there and high five the guy.

Two Morals of the story.....
1. NEVER doubt a guy who probably sold weed before it became legal - and is experienced in eyeballing and estimating the weight/s of product.
2. Don't eat a pound of green grapes (my appetizer) and a half pound of hard salami if you don't want a bad case of the farts. Loud, prolonged, stink farts.

No, it was about your post.
Maybe, at some point, you should have a mundane occurrence in your day that you DON'T post.

2 of you providing hourly updates is a bit much. And even though they are mostly made up, Ousy's stories ARE more interesting.

Why not? Right?
I was not in to Legos from ages 12 to 50. Then I had a 20 something year old co-worker who was obsessed and I let him share his interest/s with me. Right around the same time, I had a nephew who worked part time in a Lego store and he would talk to my mother about Legos and I would listen.
I went through a puzzle phase and then a Lego phase during Covid.
I find assembling/building Lego sets to be enjoyable and therapeutic - but I no way consider myself a Legohead.

his wife is as cool as mine

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT.....
Didn't want to start a new thread. This fits on this one.
Beginning of this post will probably make people roll their eyes and think wtf, if you get through the beginning of it - then my hope is YOU will hopefully get something out of it.

This morning, soon after I woke up, I looked at my cell phone. There was a local news alert that a 17 year old was shot and in critical condition. So that's basically what I woke up to today.
Soon after that, I sat in my "lounge" chair in my living room and opened my computer (laptop). Last thing I must have been looking at was Twitter/X because the first thing I saw this morning was video of a 15 year old who was shot and killed in Chicago yesterday. I'll spare you the video.
Anyways, obviously a shitty way to start the day. Upsetting.
Then I came to this site to take my mind off of it. Did NOT go to the Politics Board. Went to the Basketball Board to read some posts. Then to the Off Topic Board.

Yesterday Shirley and Jeeper took the time to communicate with me - in regards to me. They gave me some advice. I sincerely thank the both of them because in reality what am I to them? Not much more than a stranger on a message board who they have gotten to know through my posts.
It should be obvious to everyone that I have my share of personal issues that affect my behavior and subsequently sometimes/often my posts on here.
Point of my sharing this is... I thank each and every person on here for being a support system for me. I read a lot of posts, I respond to some (ok - a lot), and I get something (hopefully positive but no doubt sometimes negative) from being able to come on here and take my mind of my own troubles and issues - and/or use this site as a means to escape, or vent, and on occasion - ask for advice.
Shout out to pdub for creating this place - and to everyone else who has helped provide this outlet for me.

PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND to this post. For my sake and your's.
Because..... Sure this post is my wanting you to give me attention, and it comes off as being about me me me me me, but it's really more about YOU, and my wanting YOU, to realize what YOU bring to me, and for YOU to reflect on YOU, and the power YOU have in someone else's life - more than it's about me.

At the end of the day, this really matters.

Those that know my wife and I know how much every single moment of my day is filled with my wife cracking me up.
