Today in "so much winning"!
Re: Today in "so much winning"!
Full disclosure: As much as I disagree with his 2020 budget proposal, I'd like to thank Trump for threatening cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, et al., because if the 2018 midterm election and exit polls are accurate, health care, even more than the economy, and certainly more than The Wall Mexico is going to pay for, is the number one issue for American voters, and this only helps to ensure that it will continue to be. And if anything seems obvious, it's that Americans trust their health care to Democrats a lot more than republicans.

^^^^^This. Until you've qualified for Medicare, I'm not sure one understands just how upsetting the idea of cuts to Medicare can be.Feral wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2019 7:57 am Full disclosure: As much as I disagree with his 2020 budget proposal, I'd like to thank Trump for threatening cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, et al., because if the 2018 midterm election and exit polls are accurate, health care, even more than the economy, and certainly more than The Wall Mexico is going to pay for, is the number one issue for American voters, and this only helps to ensure that it will continue to be. Re: Today in "so much winning"!
We would be able to contribute a higher amount for Medicare and I suspect that Sea could as well. The problem comes with the huge number of recipients that would be hard hit by cuts.
For God's sake could another tax cut for the top 10% address this problem.
I see that there are also proposed cuts to Education for school lunches, after school programs etc. The freeloading poor again turning the safety net into a hammock.

Hey, gotta pay for that wall somehow.
Remember, the poor will be happy to contribute because they will be safer!

I think the word you're searching for is "entitlements," not Medicare.seahawk wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2019 11:25 am^^^^^This. Can you ever stoop to explain to the proletariat what your point is?

Full Disclosure II:
Got to admit I didn't know who that was in the picture with Nancy either, but considering that Pelosi is a power broker in DC, I just assumed it was a porn star that Pelosi had raw dogged.

Frum lacks the herd sense that being a good "conservative" republican requires.

I don't care about a lot of things. Near the top of my list of things I don't care about is rich people buying their kids admission into university. I don't care.
Funny thing is, I didn't know I didn't care about it until this non story became the biggest college admissions scandal in the history of college admission scandals.
