Uncle Joe
Re: Uncle Joe
I respect you too, Gutter. And another thing that bothers me is you constantly saying you aren't "smart". You bring a wealth of insight to the forum that we wouldn't be exposed to otherwise. I'm also somewhat aware of your connections, and don't take the knowledge you bring as a result of that for granted.
And, as you know and I have expressed on numerous occasions previously, I appreciate you posting about former KU players in the NBA, in addition to your vast knowledge of NBA basketball (especially compared to me) in general.
And, we're all probably attention whores to some extent, or we wouldn't post our musings to a public message board.
Peace. Love. And all that other bullshit...

pubs refusing to do the right thing, at any point, and hold trump accountable is why we’re where we are
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Gutman, your points of view are not for me, anything to take issue with.
We should all have our own points of view, and feel free to express them.
For me, the posts of yours that frustrate me are:
Your self- depreciation posts. You seem like a good guy. I have no idea how smart you are or aren’t. It doesn’t really matter to me. But constantly putting yourself down does seem like passive / aggressive behavior. It’s fishing for a compliment.
Your constant updates on how bad your life and your environment suck. I am a positive person. I enjoy being around positive people, and loathe being around negative people. My sister and I don’t have a relationship because I seriously cannot let her feed on my positive energy to fill the holes in her energy. You can find the positive when you stop craving the negative. I don’t know if you truly can stop drinking from the tap. Many of us have repeatedly invited you to come out and see the world as we see it, you always have a reason why you can’t. That is on you.
Also, you make WAY too many references to poop and buttholes. That makes you sound creepy.
If it helps, I would be happy to list the things I don’t like about myself…or Mich.
I think you are a genuinely good dude. I want more of that. Please?

You're right, no court findings against Joe for sexual assault. No felony convictions. Joe's companies have not been found guilty of fraud. Joe's CFO is not in prison for fraud. Joe's campaign manager has not been found guilty of fraud. Joe's national security advisor was not convicted of lying to the FBI.
Exactly the same.

Will his "team" tell Holt what he can and can't ask?
Questions given to him/his "team" ahead of time?
I appreciate Joe being interviewed and Holt doing the interview but I can't help but wonder if more people will be rooting for our President to look/sound bad - or look and sound good. Republicans AND Democrats. Kind of sad. Actually, really sad.

Re: Uncle Joe
Why wait? What's the holdup? That's 2.5 weeks after his debate debacle. We've been waiting for tonight's press conference forever, and now we have to wait until Monday for the next opportunity to see if Biden has it together enough to be the candidate, and serve for another (shudder) four years? If he's really "fine", as they would have us believe, they should have had him out in the public the day after the debate to start putting people's minds at ease instead of allowing the questions to linger for now two weeks. It has entirely taken attention off of Trump's endless lies during the debate, and the recent decisions of our bought and paid for Supreme Court, abandoning the constitution and ensuring Trump not only won't suffer any consequences for his crimes before during and after his last term, but ensuring he can do whatever the hell he wants with "immunity" during his next term.KUTradition wrote: ↑Wed Jul 10, 2024 11:07 pm Biden doing NBC interview Monday night (with Lester Holt)
If we're talking about Biden, (we are), Biden's losing.
As Karl Rove said ~ a quarter century ago, If they're explaining, they're losing. WTF have we done for a solid 2 weeks other than talk about Biden and "explain"?
Not only is Biden trying to run out the clock, (assuming he could have been appearing before the cameras and meeting with the Demos who matter over the last two weeks), so that it'll be more and more impossible to do anything to come up with a plan to replace him before the Demo convention in August, but by postponing his next "Look at me, I'm normal" event for next Monday, he's also ensuring that we won't be doing what we should be doing if we want Democrats to win, taking attention away from Trump and his cult at the Republican convention which starts next week.
IMO, Biden (and his handlers) actions since the debate scream hubris, ego, and self-preservation, not doing what's best for the party and by extension, the nation, all while making it ever more likely that a fascist autocrat and his cult will take power and serve four years lawlessly with the aid of a compromised SCOTUS, as a result.

Man…
So one side is “hubris, ego, and self-preservation, not doing what's best for the party and by extension, the nation”
And that’s not even the side of cultish fascist autocracy.
Wut a time to be alive!
we are so fucked

Re: Uncle Joe
Bullshit.
Even on his most ego-centric day, Biden is still a decent man, not a fascist, who believes in our constitution and the rule of law.

Add "false equivalencies" to the list of traps, I suppose.

How is it a false equivalency?
