Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Yesterday I was riding my bike in my neighborhood and then to and along the lake front.
I admit 3 different times I said to myself, damn (or something worse) immigrant/s.
Yep, I suppose I am a racist and an asshole - when it comes to people of any race/religion/nationality/gender/political affiliation/etc. who are disrespectful and are up to no good.
#1 - Kid about 13, 14, 15 (old enough to know better) riding his bike zig zagging through people walking. Knowing he is being annoying and not caring. Acting like he owns the sidewalk. Bumped in to a woman about 50 years old. No sorry, no nothing. Someone says something to him. He just rides away.
#2 - Car/s often parked on Ohio Street near the Inn of Chicago - a hotel that houses migrants. Yesterday, guys sitting smoking weed in a car. They see someone/something, ZOOM out of the parking space into traffic. Person in another car slams their brakes and honks their horn. Migrants yell at them in Spanish. P.S. How/why do these guys have a car?
#3 - Ohio Street Beach. Group of about 20 teenage/20 something year old migrants standing along a fence. Drinking, smoking weed, playing loud music. Ok, kids will be kids. Until one takes a bottle and purposely smashes it on the sidewalk on the other side of the gate where there are people walking, riding bikes, etc.

Of course none of the things I mentioned are a BIG deal and none are really a crime but it's the type of shit that happens each and every day that I witness - that didn't happen before they were here.

THESE are examples of 3 things that ARE a BIG deal to me.....

Of course. As much if not more so.
That being said, that is pretty much a whataboutism, that doesn't justify the behavior of those who are illegal guests/visitors to our country, that I feel should be grateful to be here and show respect to those who are citizens, more for themselves than for our country.
Like I said, the 3 examples of what I witnessed were no BIG deal but the 3 links/videos I shared were just 3 (of MANY) BIG examples that show we do have a migrant problem in our country, that we wouldn't have if there wasn't an abundance of migrants overwhelming cities. I'll let others debate what should/could be done and what shouldn't/can't be done about it.

P.S. I am NOT "anti-migrant". I am "anti-criminal behavior" from/by migrants. Just as I am "anti-criminal behavior" from non-migrants.

in my own personal experience, i’ve had nothing but positive encounters with immigrants

i’ve said before, but anyone willing to risk their lives, leaving everything they know and are familiar with, and walking hundreds (if not thousands) of miles for just a chance at something we all take for granted, absolutely has my utmost respect and deserves an opportunity
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

In my own personal experiences, I have had many (not "nothing but") positive encounters with immigrants - too. Heck, I have two close friends that are two of my 50 favorite people on the planet who are immigrants. Morally, I feel they are two of the most moral people I know. I have nothing but the upmost respect for them and their families.

I 100% agree with your sentiment.
You want to come to America for a better life for yourself, your family, and want to be a positive member and contribute to society, God bless you. Let me know what if anything I can do to assist you.
Problem is, that's not who I am discussing. I am discussing the people who come to our country and choose to be criminals with little to no remorse. Yes, I understand some feel they have no other options in regards to their choice/s to be criminals but it's something I feel should NOT be accepted and tolerated. Of course it's "only" a percentage (I'm not saying tiny, small, substantial, large, huge) of migrants but whatever percentage it is, I feel it is too big of a percentage.
I feel it is also worth mentioning/discussing the abundance of "resources" they are given and at what expense/s it is to me, you, and every other citizen of the USA.
I'm embarrassed to say I am not educated enough on the subject to know what all the laws and rules are in regards to the migrants but my hope is something/s change/s asap for their sake and the sake of everyone else in this country. It is a problem. For them and for our country.

No Gutter, the problem lies not within our stars or borders, but in the media. We created the crisis, and with human decency could fix it. But then they might not be an easy object of hate and fear-mongering. We need to accept who we can, treat and move to other climes who we cannot, but there is a population shortage many places. With funded and humane treatment, much can be done. The GOP has alarmed the country to alarm the country. And not to fix anything. What we do to the least of us matters to me.

Agreed that I wish that no one, citizen or immigrant, loitered, said rude things, behaved immorally or broke the law. The numbers show that overall, illegal immigrants are less likely to break the law than citizens. Yes, you are in a hot spot where immigrants have been consolidated and forced into a bad situation by governors of red states who have basically kidnapped these people under false pretenses and dropped them off at your door. I wish you, your city and them good luck in dealing with the situation.

I am under the impression/belief that with "human decency" we could fix a lot of problems.
At the moment, if what I read here is to be believed, "we" have spent at least 150 billion dollars and that number could go up to 500 billion dealing with "the problem". To those that are responsible for dealing with the "crisis", does that constitute your "with funded and humane treatment"?
To me, "we" are indeed using $$$$$ and "human decency" to address an issue - that is NOT being resolved by simply using $$$$$ and "human decency". So..... If I were to ask, how is that working out? The answer I might expect would be - not too good.

No doubt "hate and fear mongering" is a successful tool being used by those with an agenda, but when the migrants play in to it, and give those who use it as a tool perfect examples of why people should "hate" and be "fearful", then there are multiple facets working together creating the ultimate unresolved/unresolvable? shit storm.

Yes, the GOP has alarmed the country but in the same sentence I might add, the Dems tend to minimize the issue. Sure would be nice if the GOP and Dems could and would work together and try and work on not necessarily a solution per se but at least a better way to deal with the problem.

just heard three, very interesting statistics:

1) migrant crime isn’t on the rise (despite what the psych’s of this world parrot)

2) 90% of fentanyl seizures at the southern border are derived from LEGAL border crossings

3) 91% of those same seizures are derived from US citizens

give me a migrant over psych or randi every day of the week, and twice on sundays

By “migrant,” I assume you mean “illegal immigrant.” You Dims and your euphemisms.
