Re: Kamala! Fuck Yeah!
I mean, I think I’m with illy here.
There’s been concerns about Biden’s age and cognitive decline for a while now. It just got downplayed by so many, including even Kamala, until it went on full display during the debate.
Dems capitulated to Biden and his ego. I think back to HST’s analogy…it’d be like telling a bull elk during the rut to knock it off.
It would be nicer if we did get more of a choice here. Last time we did, Kamala didn’t fare so well.
She’s kind of been low profile as far as veeps go, and policy-wise I guess her biggest achievement is…what, again? Something to do with the immigration thread?
But, let’s face it, hardly anyone actually cares about policy shit.
I think her biggest appeal is she’s not Trump, but not Biden either. I’ve maintained Dems could should win easily if they got any half charismatic candidate under the age of 70. She’s at least one of those things.
I’m happy for her and Dems and hope she and they can ride this momentum, even if for no other reason than to punk Trump.
My concern is, she’s never been the best candidate, and is now very abruptly being thrust into the position to have to be one.

she is not even in the ballpark.

Tho if Jesus really DID come back, his platform would be far too radical for either major party’s ticket

I agree with you on the choice, and it miffs me that (AGAIN) Dem leadership (at the party level) didn’t have the foresight to implore such a decision (see:RBG).DeletedUser wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 1:10 pm This is not how it is supposed to work. We are supposed to get a choice.
Like I said, she's got my vote. I'm happy it's her and not Biden. But, this was not ideal.
Fucking dumb.
I also think it’s unfair to already place markers on a legacy and such.
And finally, at the end of the day, if she does win in November, it’s not going to be accepted as truth by 40% or so of the population, because that narrative has been set up for the last 4 years, and is the true danger to a Trump ‘regime’. It breeds cunts.

Yes, you're right. I would absolutely not want Jesus Christ to be the nominee.zsn wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 1:16 pmYou’re going to bellyache if the nominee was Jesus ChristDeletedUser wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 1:10 pm This is not how it is supposed to work. We are supposed to get a choice.

Plus, everyone knows Jesus is a Republican anyway.
Re: Kamala! Fuck Yeah!
I do not agree with "Dems capitulated to Biden and his ego." at all. It seems like the DNC was too scared to run someone besides Biden because they felt that primarying an incumbent President can be seen as an attack on his platform and accomplishments and they didn't want to risk having to fight the "well if he did such a great job then why aren't you running him again?" debate.ousdahl wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 1:25 pm I mean, I think I’m with illy here.

they crossed their fingers and hoped to goodness that they could drag his container across the finishline.
it didn't work out. and we get another unpleasureable candidate to take his place. feels like we are stuck in a mindwarp.

this thread started out so well
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

I hope Harris chooses Ben Shapiro for her VP. He spearheaded an investigation of sexual abuse in the PA Catholic Church so he earns two thumbs up from me for that.

He is a very popular governor in a swing state and has done an excellent job in his time there so far from reports I have read.

Re: Kamala! Fuck Yeah!
I heard from Kelly Fenton who was in Milwaukee this AM for Kamala's speech, he left fired up.
Kamala is a stark contrast to the angry old demented felon screeching about that time he tried to overthrow our government and what a role model Hannibal Lector is to him personally.
Kamala has gorgeous hair, and doesn't seem to feel the need to talk about it and beg for affirmation from the rube applause machine.
"A happy", dare I say giggly, "person talking about the future fits the moment better than an angry old" demented felon, misogynist, traitor "yelling about the past"....maybe this was the vibe that Fenton was feeling in Milwaukee?"Elections are about all kinds of things, but I think a happy person talking about the future fits the moment better than an angry old man yelling about the past," argued Slate columnist Zachary Carter.
Watching Kamala Harris speaking in Wisconsin... By hell she’s impressive," wrote British broadcaster and media personality Carol Vorderman. "And she’s going to win … she’s energizing the young voters and has no fear of the fight."
