Makes zero sense to me - unless it was different people voting for MVP and First and Second team?

I feel the NBA has gone and shit on too many things. There are multiple Summer Leagues and yet many people think the Vegas League is the only one. I feel the in season tournament is unnecessary and unnecessarily complex/complicated. I get the desire to be a money hungry gimmick entertainment conglomerate but enough it enough. The product wasn't broken.

I would have to agree unless their agents somehow finagled some bullshit clause in their contract that if they won Summer League MVP or were on the First or Second team they got some sort of bonus.
Here is a question, what if a sponsor made it worth their while? Such as Toyota gives the Summer League MVP a Land Cruiser. Still pretty much meaningless award/s but at least the player has something substantial to show for it other than a sharp stick in the eye and a crappy trophy.
