Gutter's 5 questions for a I wasn't going to ask 5 questions today but it's raining and I am bored Sunday 7/28

Post by RainbowsandUnicorns »

1. Without looking them up, do you know who any of these 3 people are/were?
Al Secord, Mary Peltola, Philip Selway?

2. Assuming you are not retired, if you retired tomorrow, how much money do you think/know you would need next year (and only for next year) to live on to live a slightly above "modest" lifestyle to your liking?

3. * DELETED QUESTION.
New question....
Have you ever jumped out of an airplane? If not, would you?

4. What is something you feel you are addicted to that you wish you are not addicted to - or at least less addicted to, other than being on this site?

5. You can choose to answer ANY (one, two, or all three) of the following questions.
a. What is the meaning of life?
b. Does God exist other than ONLY in people's minds?
c. If you could go back to college for one school year all expenses paid, what college other than KU would you choose?

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Yes. Mary Peltola is a first term, Democratic US Congresswoman from Alaska. She's the first "real Alaskan" ever elected to congress, and she benefitted both from ranked choice voting and a huge feud between two Republican candidates, one representing MAGA and the other traditional Republicans. I've donated to her campaigns both in '22, and '24*.

2. I don't need $ to live on because I'm retired?

3. No, and I can't for the life of me imagine why anyone would choose to.

4. Current events/politics/ the news"/what's going on Although certainly less and less so, with time.

5. a. The meaning of life is, it ends. Act accordingly.
b. No.
c. Never thought I had a choice, so haven't given it much thought. Would love to have attended KU undergraduate tho. Cambridge sounds good, so I could copy off of zen's tests.

*But I'm not sure if I will again, or not. Republicans recently put a bill up for a vote in the house condemning "Border Czar" Harris and the Biden Admin for not securing the border. No doubt, because they had to cover their asses because they're running for reelection in Republican/reddish districts, 6 Democrats voted in favor of the resolution, and Peltola was one of them.

I already forgot what question #3 was.

But I haven't jumped out of an airplane. And I hope I never have to.
