2024/2025 Lineup
Re: 2024/2025 Lineup
I wish they would take 1,000 seats out and just make the spots wider so all the fatties in there stop squeezing me out of my seat.

Re: 2024/2025 Lineup
the greatest moment having season tickets is getting seniority and moving out of the corners
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

"...the corner videoboards, which will replace the upper corner bleacher seating, combined with additional ADA seating, the new capacity at Allen Fieldhouse will be 15,300."twocoach wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2024 4:15 pm Seeing rumors online that the AFH capacity has been cut by 1,000 due to the renovations that took place this offseason. So that will be interesting if true. Sounds like they might have shoved some video boards into the corners and cut some nosebleed GA seats.

Could be cool!
Assuming the video boreds are to exclusively display dancing nachos
But other than that, lame.

Throw me in the "skeptical at best group".
I grew up always sitting in 2A. A decade in the same section, maybe got a couple rows closer over the years via the lottery and how seats are picked. The upper corners are where the real fans sit (*kidding*).

Re: 2024/2025 Lineup
I disliked my dad’s season tickets every time I went bc of all the fat fucks.
I’m not skinny, but I don’t spill over my seat or anything. People that do suck. Eat less.

You gotta get there early and claim your territory. And once you're there, no getting up until the game is over. Or you'll lose what you've worked for.

sooo
nothing official, but who cares, it's the offseason
rumors of one more dood to be added to the lineup?
Possibly David Coit, a Northern Illinois volume-shooting PG

I don't love it, either, but it's also the case that KU has been wallpapering over (I guess I should add given context: not literally) some difficulties in moving those corner seats in recent years. This isn't a new issue, and it is certainly related to the difficulties KU has had in finding a good student ticket allocation/usage system.
It appears that KU is seeking to respond to flagging demand by trimming supply, in a manner that further increases the value of the inventory that will remain after the surgery.
I do not mean this post as taking a side.
Certainly another thing you could do to address waning demand is simply to reduce prices, particularly on slow-moving inventory. But what happens in ticket offices is that account executives get screamed at by season ticketholders who complain about fellow fans paying a hell of a lot less than the complainers.

Then reduce season ticketholders prices if they want to have seats in the corners.jfish26 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2024 2:43 pm Certainly another thing you could do to address waning demand is simply to reduce prices, particularly on slow-moving inventory. We don't need more video boards.

More videoboards wouldn't be my choice. Nor would changing 16,300.pdub wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2024 2:57 pmThen reduce season ticketholders prices if they want to have seats in the corners.jfish26 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 06, 2024 2:43 pm Certainly another thing you could do to address waning demand is simply to reduce prices, particularly on slow-moving inventory. Re: 2024/2025 Lineup
https://throughthephog.com/posts/kansas ... j4nec67p3tKansas already has a top-three roster in the nation, and it might add yet another player from the transfer portal. 247 Sports staff writer Aaron Gershon placed a crystal ball in favor of the Jayhawks for former Northern Illinois guard David Coit.
We're not entirely sure what propelled Gershon to place this crystal ball, but there must be a good reason why. Coach Self has made it known that he is open to adding another player, and Coit might be that guy. Considering Gershon has been accurate on 13 of his 16 crystal balls, this should not be taken lightly.
Coit was granted an eligibility waiver in July and immediately garnered interest from top programs like Arkansas, Texas A&M, and Villanova. He is a 5-foot-11 point guard with one season of eligibility remaining after spending one year in community college and another two at Northern Illinois.
During his time at NIU, Coit made the All-MAC Third Team twice. In 2023-24, he averaged 20.8 points per game across 29 contests, good for the second-highest mark in the conference. Coit played 37.0 minutes per game, adding 3.4 assists and 3.2 rebounds. He ranked in the 92nd percentile for scoring efficiency among all Division I basketball players, so he'd be able to provide the Jayhawks some quick offense off the second unit.

Injury insurance for DH, I guess. Not sure why he'd want to come here where there is a chance he wouldn't even play unless he can beat out Moore.
Re: 2024/2025 Lineup
Guessing Self wants all the depth we can get.
For, yea, injury insurance.
And just to have options.
Especially considering how last year turned out, it’s not a bad idea to stockpile shooters.
And if this dood might be able to come in even just for a few minutes and be an offensive spark, that’s a real good piece to have.

Re: 2024/2025 Lineup
I do not think offense will be our problem with HD and Storr....and KJ and Rylen and Mayo.
Maybe the kid wants the experience. Or maybe he wants to have a chance to be on a team that could win it all. Or maybe we've got just enough open salary cap to be his best offer? Just seems unlikely he's actually going to play meaningful minutes.

or maybe he just wants to know what it feels like to play in the Phog and at a place like KU
there’s something special about that court. playing on it is an experience in and of its self
