Ugh Renfroe. Lost opportunity tonight with Sox, I’m afraid.

I still don’t think anyway at all that we catch Indians, regardless of how well team plays moving forward.

Renfroe has a great arm but is too slow for it to matter. Could not get to balls others can. He is a utility player only now. Again, Q blew this one. The new rules mean if a guy is effective, leave him in the next inning. If he falters, you can pull him after one pitch. I was yelling at the TV when he brought Harvey in. Q has dropped about 10 games on judgment alone.
Upside is body control on slides has been excellent on slides. Base running is still an issue. Starting lineups are a problem. Pen management a problem. Hitting and starting pitching has been good. Manager is a fat D-

Melendez should play every day. Q is stumped that platooning doesn't work well. Good win, a little luck did not hurt.

The genius of Q: Vinnie, Salvy and Renfro consecutively. That what speed don't do. STOP PLATOONING TOO.

Like how Q didn't play Melendez at all, the hero of yesterday's game, and a great fielder. Dumbass.

Royals all watching the good first pitch, then flailing at bad ones behind in the count. Gee, do you think Boston lnows something Q? And Yoshida has six hits on six breaking balls. Salvy.

If it’s the Red Sox for the last wildcard point to this series.

Third inning, umpire missed a clear strike on the first hitter and he walked. Set up scoring that should not have happened. Little subtle cheats with nobody out are the worst. Need auto strike zone.
Witt overcame that suff though.

Alright, salvaged one in series. Better than being swept.

16650 at the K tonight. Lame.

I saw earlier this Sunday is an off day.

Is that a new thing this year? Not sure if everyone gets one. At first I thought maybe it was a catch all day, for earlier weather cancellations, etc…

…then realized that doesn’t really make sense as most teams are still playing.

Anyone with collective bargaining info here? Or know of it’s just an anomaly?

From what I read, each team gets 4 off days.

There are more than that. Or do you mean days besides Monday and Thursday (typical potential off days)?

"Under the collective bargaining agreement reached in December 2016, several changes were made to the scheduling pattern for the 2018 season. The overall length of the season was extended to 187 days with the addition of four off-days for all teams."

Yeah, I think those are just more days off.

I meant to come post that they had 2 days off in a row last year when playing a 2 game set with Cardinals as well. Article I read referred to this week’s scheduling a quirk.

I don’t know how things will go the last 7 weeks, but this team is pretty fun to watch most of the time.

It’s nice.

A little tenuous pitching lately. Teams seem to know when a change up is coming. Salvy must have some tells.

This might be extra innings. Q brings Ercec in early. Ump screws Royals with balls and strikes too. Another change up schwacked after some bad umpire work.
