This is what a high energy politician does.

Meanwhile, low-energy old man Trump sat on his fat ass all week and whined.
The evidence that Trump's campaign is hiding the candidate is pretty thick.

And it's on both ends: he is doing only a fraction of the amount of events he normally does, and those ones he's done lately have been pretty bad (ranging from weird-and-slurry-and-boring (the Musk "conversation"), to weird-and-angry-and-boring (the RNC acceptance speech), to plain offensive (the NABJ panel).

We said in these parts that replacing Trump with Haley would have almost certainly have locked up the election for the Rs. It is becoming more and more apparent that replacing Biden with Harris may have a similar result in the other direction.

Harris and Walz' policy has been front and center all along. But the press needs to ask about race and other talking points.

The press tends mostly to ask her about Trump. And to defend herself from Trump's attacks on her.

At this point:

I don't think Kamala can steal any voters from Trump, no matter what SHE says.

I don't think Trump can steal any voters from Kamala, no matter what HE says.

I do think Trump can scare some people that would consider voting for him over to Kamala's side.

I do think Kamala can move some voters that would consider voting for her into not bothering to vote at all.

One of the candidates is campaigning. The other is hanging out at one of his own crime scenes.

I think it'd be better if they did.

In this particular instance, there doesn't seem to be much to gain for either.

These are not the best choices we should have. But they are the choices we've got.

There is obviously room for movement.

For example, Harris has moved to the top of the polls.

Then you aren't accounting for the me's of the USA of which I think there are more than you think - the wasn't going to vote for either candidate on the ticket and now I'd like to see what Kamala is all about before voting for her.

Yes. I left that scenario out accidentally. She could change the yous from not voting at all or for either to voting for Kamala.

I am assuming there is NOTHING that will result in you voting for Trump.

No clue who "ch" is...

I feel fairly confident that at some point before the election she will take and answer questions.

i think she would be wrong to just assume that all the "neither dt or old uncle" sector will just slide over to her side. sight unseen.

her vp track record alone, is not enough.

except she’s got an entire career outside of that position as well, in addition to the policy targets that she’s been outlining over the past two weeks

not that you care
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

It's just moving goalposts. Spoiler alert - it ends with there being nothing Harris can actually do to actually win his vote.

She was also a US Senator for 4 years, a state Attorney General for 6 years and a District Attorney in SF for 7 years.

What relevant track record did Donald Trump have in 2016 besides being a professional bankruptcy hustler who failed at running a casino?

And again, I am comfortable assuming that there will be more information and details shared as time goes by.

Of course what has not penetrated the MAGAsphere at all is the now-incontrovertible truth that not only was Trump a professional bankruptcy hustler who couldn’t operate a profitable casino, but in fact his entire selling point as a “successful businessman” was the product of frauds large and small.

I see this from a few angles.

I dunno if it’s a huge deal to not talk to the press. I also saw talking points like “but lots of other candidates have done the same.”

But at the very least, a candidate not talking to the press does nothing to help the “but I’m the one here to save democracy” sorts of points.

And, maybe I’m reading into it too far, but it might be a sign of uncertainty, even weakness, that Kamala and/or her handlers might be afraid she’s vulnerable to a potential press conference gaffe.
