I couldn't care less where we're at the first weekend. I would of course choose to be the top #4 rather than the bottom #3.

To play a 1-seed in S16? No thanks.

Well the lowest 1 and the highest 2 aren't that far off. Right now that's like playing either UK or Duke. In that scenario top 4 might be preferred

And the notion that the top #4 automatically gets the bottom #1 gets proven wrong every year. They do not follow a strict pattern like that.

I'll restate: if given the choice between (A) being a 3-seed somewhere but KC, and (B) being a 4-seed in KC, I'd take B.

Yes, KC preferable over seed. With the way the relationship has gone lately, I expect the NCAA will stick us way out west for both weekends.

I will say this..

Houston is really damn good. Wouldn't surprise me if they move to a 2.

Fine. But Sweet 16 is likely (note the hedge) this team's ceiling anyway

Maybe - but it's also the case that (as usual) the bracket is likely a bit softer out West.

The harsher punishment would (likely) be a 4-seed draw in the East or South.

100%. Give me the 4 in the West with Gonzaga over being in the East or Eouth.

Well, we could of course hope for Virginia if we come out of this as a 4-seed . . .

True, but they may hold us in the 30s.

I want to stay as far away from Virginia as possible. When they get on a roll, they are unstoppable. They are a better scoring version of Tech when they are shooting well.

we're more likely playing an 8 or a nine...or a 16 in that scenario.

Yes. Virginia doesn't get to escape the 16 over 1 jokes only a year later.
