Re: Royals
Alright. Good way to start this thing.
The K seemed awake tonight.

Re: Royals
Huge crowd tonight. Nice professional win
Re: Royals
Benefits the Royals because teams are not being aggressive and wanting free passes. The Phillies bitched late about real strikes humorously enough.Back2Lawrence wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2024 7:58 pm Strike zone is not good tonight. For either team.
Ump has missed a few each side. Hope that only helps the Royals later.

Fans aren’t exactly saying, “don’t flirt with Nashville.”Back2Lawrence wrote: ↑Sat Aug 24, 2024 7:09 am25k is not a huge crowd. But the people that were there seemed loud.
Re: Royals
the top of the second tier was filled, so I am puzzled by the announced attendance Friday. But if true, that blackout policy is killing the Royals. They used to get that many in bad years. And man that was an awful game yesterday. Turned on bad defense by Massey and Renfroe. WTF was Renfroe doing on the fly ball? It was a JD Vance being weird and indecisive moment that killed the game.

Re: Royals
Yeah yesterday was a throw away. One bad inning led to a collapse.
Get em today.
I’d bet Nashville or Austin, Fish. KC makes sense as a AAA team.
I’d love to see an architect release renderings of a K 2.0, which incorporates all the aesthetic items the make the K a great place to watch a ballgame, but in a downtown, or part of a ‘district’ plan.

Re: Royals
I agree--but man the AAA town was a reprise of the Athletics time in KC where Findley was just not trying for a decade. Like most of us, I'll get behind a good stadium no matter what. Need to work on all roads leading to downtown. Something KC needs anyway. I like the idea of trains that can carry EVs for you while making speed between cities. We need to break out of the 1950s some day.

Re: Royals
The thing about the KC metro is that there are few areas that experience awesome traffic problems.
I think Fish has mentioned something similar before, but regarding just the downtown loop.
The loop, itself, is a bit of a cluster phuck. I’m sure it has something to do with the historical makeup of the neighborhood’s surrounding. This area is the problem, I believe. Not from a number of lanes access or anything l, but from an east of access on many of the ramps/exits. Terrible awful.

Re: Royals
Man teams sit on Royals breaking balls. Royals need to throw many more fastballs. Lugo needs better command today though
Re: Royals
Q. So bad. Left Lugo in. 105 degrees. Royals watching hittable first pitches again. Like it was a good idea to get to their pen. Royals pen is not good enough. Q is not good enough. Not sure we have enough to overcome that.

Re: Royals
Well, since not much to say here today other than Blech…and its scoreboard watching season…
Thanks Dbags, thanks Cards.

Re: Royals
Expanding rosters will help. I feel like there is an inherent contradiction in your post - a Royals problem, not a Sparko problem - being the need to manage for the W that day as compared with trying to save bullets for the rest of the season.
Re: Royals
Q is unable to make the kind of decisions needed many times. The team has been good enough to disguise it, but it is a chronic problem. Platooning someone like Hampson and playing Renfroe every day, and putting pitchers in high leverage situations they aren't adapted for seems to be his specialty. You have Isbel and Melendez not playing over inferior utility guys.

Hmmm. Haha.
Melendez does have a .212 Ba…but loved that hit today.
Team is fighting. I hope it’s not 11-3 after 9 innings this afternoon. Unless, of course, it’s +8 for the boys in blue.
Have I mentioned I really like playoff chases in baseball?
