Gutter's 5 Quick Questions For National College Colors, Toasted Marshmallow, and Beach, Day 8/30/24

Post by RainbowsandUnicorns »

1. Do you own and have you worn a t-shirt or jersey of a college TEAM other than KU in the past 400 days?
2. On a scale of 1-100 (1 being very close to the worst and 100 being very close to the best) rank Marshmallows (I pronounce them marshmellos more than marshmallows) as an invention.
3. When was the last time you were at/on a beach?
4. For your next pizza you have to choose between "Chicago deep dish", "New York style", "Detroit style", "Neapolitan style", or "chocolate chip cookie style" (baked in a pizza pan and with vanilla ice cream and hot fudge). Which do you choose? For the record, my favorite is Chicago "pub style".
5. My sincere hope is randy is a decent person off the boards. On the politics board, he is probably in the top 5% of people I don't like in the world *.
Name someone who is living, OTHER than those on the boards and politicians, who is in your top 5% of people you don't like.

* No randy, it's not because I am a "___________ liberal". It's because I believe you enjoy purposely antagonizing people (which is one thing) AND you do it in a manner that shows how ignorant you are - and either you don't realize it, or you do realize it and you get off on it.

1) Wut? Fuck no
2) 1, yuck
3) Couple weeks ago, Lake Superior
4) I do love a good Chicago deep dish pizza
5) I was going to say Mitch but he is a politician and you said living, so I think that disqualifies him. I'll go with pharma bro.

In honor of 99 and him being the only one to respond.

1. Wut? Fuck yes
2. 5, yuck but will eat when forced to. Which if I think about it, I have probably never really been forced to. They are tolerable in a S'more.
3. Last Sunday - Oak Street and Ohio Street beaches
4. It's either Chicago or New York. Being that it's a lot easier and there are a lot more options, I'm probably going with Chicago. BUT.... As I said, I love me some Chicago (or I suppose other city) "pub style" pizza.
5. Giving it less than 1 second of thought..... I came up with Elon Musk. If I give it more thought, he's probably not in my top 5%, but I don't want to think about it, so I'll go ahead and say he is.

1. Do “University” shirts count, but not TEAMS? Own several, Oxford, Vienna, Stanford, other UCs…elsewhere in the world.
2. 0? Don’t eat it since it’s got gelatin
3. About 3 weeks ago, Lake Tahoe
4. Neapolitan style
5. Elon Musk. No hesitation for me

1. No. I used to have a NC State shirt that I borrowed.
2. 15. There are worse inventions. The assault rifle for instance. I only eat marshmallows on smores.
3. Last weekend. Camping at Sebago Lake. I ate a marshmallow. Will be at a beach tomorrow. Summer in Maine.
4. New York style. Easy.
5. Musk was also first to mind largely because he ruined Twitter

1.) My wife is a Baylor grad, and she got me a Baylor Basketball T-shirt that I wear occasionally to appease her. She also has a KU shirt that I got her that comes out periodically.
2.) 50. I'm neutral. The only time I eat them is when we make s'mores a couple times per year.
3.) July of this year at Pentwater Beach on Lake Michigan. Awesome place.
4.) I'm not familiar with the different styles, but I do enjoy deep dish pizza.
5.) I think everyone, if they are honest, has a board persona that they adopt for use when they disagree. My guess is that everyone here, even the ones whose personas I dislike, is a solid person face-to-face. The ones I have met over the years have proven this true. That being said, Deion Sanders is someone I can't bear to watch or listen to, especially when he's wearing that ridiculous giant white cowboy hat.

1 - t-shirt or jersey, no. Have worn sweats of my law school, though.

2 - 49. Marshmallows suck, but highly inoffensively and unimportantly so.

3 - I was on a beach of Lake Erie two weeks ago. That count? Otherwise February.

4 - Detroit

5 - Aaron Rodgers

I kind of interpreted/baked importance into question 2...if it's not, then i'd also put it close to the middle.

For some reason, I only associate beaches with oceans. Incorrectly so.

1. No

2. 49, marshmallows have a place, but it's narrow, very narrow. Like rocky road ice cream, maybe.

3. Talk about familiarity, what does it say that it's likely I live closer to a beach than almost anyone else here, but can't remember the last time I was at one? I've been to numerous docks, and yesterday I was on a sailboat out in the Gulf and we went by many beaches, but that's not the same as being at the beach.

4. My preference is for the thinnest style of pizza crust---I'm not there for the bread. That leaves Neapolitan or New York style. Unfortunately, Neapolitan is soft and chewy, whereas NY style is slightly crispy on the outside, yet thin and pliable. "Chewy" crust? Wtf? Oxymoron much? So, NY, "crispy" crust, it is! (I have never and don't plan to ever fold a slice of pizza. Ever.)

5. Trump, I mean, Musk.
Psych is right, when you meet people from here they're invariably good people. I've met at least 20 or more since the .com days.

When you get a classic New York slice that’s on the larger side ( sold by the slice ) you’ll want to fold for an easier bite.

Makes sense.

Except then, it'll be harder to cut with my fork.

Drew Carey seems an odd choice unless there is something I don't know about him.

That being said, I can't say I "get" what everyone sees in him.

For one thing, I don’t like his stupid grin.
