Government efficiency commission
Re: Government efficiency commission
I know something that school districts do NOT want to be spending more of their budgets on... metal detectors and armed guards.

He's bought Twitter and cut staffing and their budget significantly and it runs just fine. He has a proven track record in auditing or increasing a companies efficiency. He also bought tesla and it's become one of the most valuable companies in the world
Our government desperately needs an audit. We have a major spending problem. Elon would be a good fit to do it. It needs to be done even if Elon or trump aren't involved

Who spends more- Education or Pentagon? By what factor?randylahey wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2024 11:09 am Here's an example. The department of education. We spend more on education than any developed country. Yet for some reason continue to rank lower and lower when you compare test scores. Since the creation of the department of education, our public schools have somehow gotten progressively worse. Kids are getting through school and can barely read and have zero clue how to function in the real world.
Where is all that money going? How does our country how the worst ratio of academic investment and academic yield in the world?
Also what is the welfare we’re paying to farmers in the Midwest because they can’t sell products to China due to retaliatory tariffs? Hint: we’re paying double. First off the tariff imposed by the Orange One and then welfare to farmers to offset the cost of the tariffs

Which of course is his right - but the line is crossed when these weirdos basically want to use "FREE SPEEEEECCCCHHHHH!!!" as a shield against consequences.

Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?
Re: Government efficiency commission
Use of Twitter has dropped by more than 20% since Musk bought it and its stock value has dropped by more than 70%. It is unquestionably a worse product that it was prior to his purchase but sure, it's "just fine."randylahey wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2024 10:27 am That's a horrible take on Elon

Elon didn't purchase Twitter for financial reasons. He publicly stated he expected to lose money on it, before he made the purchase. This might shock you because of what your hive mind overloads say, but the goal was genuinely to protect free speech

Musk is promoting and amplifying one side's views.
Just like Trump's alleged bullet wound, the distinction between these two things only matters because of exactly how Musk uses HIS version of the story. And HIS version of the story is simply untrue.

Nearly all of his Tesla wealth actually came from selling tax credits.

BINGO!twocoach wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2024 10:02 amPeople who have no idea what funding is or isn't "important" is making that decision. Elon Musk has shown himself to be blatantly biased and shamelessly pliable in favor of whoever gives him the most money. That isn't who should be doing any sort of auditing of any policy or funding.randylahey wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2024 9:33 amOK I get you don't like trump. And that's OK, let's look past that and focus.
1. This wasn't trumps idea. Just something he was recommended
2. What logical reason is this a bad idea?
Holding our government accountable for their wasteful spending is long overdue. A lot of Americans would love transparency and accountability for how their tax dollars are used

Seahawk hung out with lawyers for a good part of her life and follows their maxim "Never ask a question you don't know the answer to," in posting--in other words, I always have a source or a link. Some 75% of my county votes Republican, which is about the same % that would lose Social Security benefits under the 2025 Plan. They'd also be forced into Medicare Advantage type plans, which cost both government and the individual more if one is where the Real Americans live, in rural communities, where MA limits the kind of specialists one can access. The MAGAs would also whine a lot about having to use their gas money to drive their F250s long distances to the hospital, since 2025 would close their rural hospitals.randylahey wrote: ↑Fri Sep 06, 2024 10:53 amSeahawk needs to be put on scholarship for "ability to jump to conclusions". That's some serious leaping ability
A lot of the Maga crowd is dependent on medicaire and social security just like everyone else

Who are you expecting to turn around wasteful government spending?
The moronic narcissist who, 6 weeks into his Presidency is hopping on (taxpayer provided) Air Force One for “campaign events” in a Presidency he just won, only so that he can bask in his crowds of mouth breathers showering him with adoration.
Or charging taxpayers 100s of millions of dollars for his most loyal followers and shadowy figures to stay in his resorts, so that they can kiss the ring.
Or, throwing tax payer money on top of goods they purchase, because he has no idea how tariffs work, only to turn around and dump taxpayer money on farmers to NOT farm.
But wait, maybe it IS Elon. The genius behind building subpar, shitty cars and getting within a few billion of breaking even only because tax payer provided subsidies pour billions into his shitty ideas.
Are you dumbasses hoping that combining these 2 flailing narcissists is akin to crossing the streams in Ghostbusters?
Or are tampons truly THAT big of a concern for you?
