For sure. Obviously not.

But would the outrage against it (currently) be similar if it were from the Quran or similar texts being used for educational purposes? My guess is in some cases yes and in some no.

It's Louisiana. So there's that. Quick search shows 76%+ of Louisianans identity as Protestant/Catholic/or "other Christian", with 1% Jewish, and 19% "unaffiliated". 4% of "other religions".

Like I mentioned, I hope the Supreme Court shoots it down as something that is able to be "required in EVERY classroom", and I'd hope in schools with a significant portion of students of "other religions" that they would choose not to post them if it will be emotionally distressing to those students (which seems far fetched, my guess is those students deal with worse shit than a poster on a wall highlighting the 10 commandments). But I'm fine if certain schools/districts want to do it. You have to let states be states on some of this stuff I guess? Idk. I'm with you on it being really stupid, and intentional virtue signaling. And add it to the list of reasons I would never live in Louisiana.

She has so much spunk. I have to imagine she's similar to that in real life, because she seemed so natural in that role.

Read the script in a motel once. Wasn’t nearly as funny as advertised. Zero out of four stars.

JFC, so the guy is recruiting hot women to pose as his romantic interest so he can sexually assault them under the guise of saving children?

Moral depravity posing as moral righteousness. The true heart of the GOP.

It seems to be an expected end to things with the fuckwit cult propaganda these days. They "release the Kraken" only to have it come back and eat them.

The fun of having a rube around is their undying enthusiasm! No amount of facts can kill their unbridled joy in finding a new lie and propagating it on the internet.

Oh to live with such childlike naiveté, it is truly a wonder to behold.

The Führer of Lies.
Donald Trump made an alarming promise to his conservative Christian supporters ahead of Tuesday’s presidential debate.

During a pre-debate prayer call hosted by the National Faith Advisory Board on Monday evening, Trump whined that Kamala Harris wanted to naturalize undocumented immigrants, and claimed that it would come at a steep cost to one group in particular.

“Every day she is flooding our country with billions and billions of illegal aliens. She wants to make them citizens, she wants to have them vote,” Trump said. “Which will destroy the voting powers of Christian conservatives forever.”

“There is no more, and there should be no more important voice than the voice of Christians,” Trump said.

Trump is attempting to set up a false exchange: that the power of one group would diminish the power of another. And in the fascist tradition, he is using immigrants as a scapegoat.

While Trump would like Christian conservatives to feel that their voices are the most important to him, the Republican nominee has repeatedly sidestepped some of the policies they’ve advocated, in an attempt to widen his appeal ahead of the election.

With Trump’s pushing, the Republican Party completely abandoned its commitment to a federal abortion ban, a longtime project of the Christian right. While Trump’s current abortion policy stance still allows for the passage of the highly restrictive laws, his blatantly opportunistic shilling should not go unnoticed. To Trump, there is no voice more important than his own.

This isn’t the first time that Trump has made an unsettling comment directed at his Christian conservative base. The former president previously promised his Christian supporters that after voting for him in November, they would never need to vote again.

“You won’t have to do it anymore. Four more years, you know what? It’ll be fixed, it’ll be fine. You won’t have to vote anymore, my beautiful Christians,” Trump said at Turning Point Action’s Believers’ Summit in July.

When asked to explain the statement, he claimed that he was trying to motivate Christians, who rarely participate in elections—which is completely untrue.
Bu the dream of "Christian Nationalism" is so tempting they will follow him to hell to get it.

What is she going to do after Day 4? Deport everyone and bring them all back in? Who’s going to tell the rubes that the world population is about 7 billion……and after the fourth day………

Never mind.

Here's how it works. You don't, like, pass a law criminalizing being gay. You just criminalize, steo by step, what amounts to living while gay, and sweep up whomever you sweep up.

Italy passes anti-surrogacy law that effectively bars gay couples from becoming parents

The West’s most restrictive law against international surrogacy threatens would-be parents who use birth mothers abroad with jail time and severe fines.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/20 ... y-parents/
Italy on Wednesday passed the West’s most restrictive law against international surrogacy, threatening would-be parents who use birth mothers abroad with jail time and severe fines in a move that critics say will chiefly target same-sex couples.

Domestic surrogacy was already banned in Italy, as it is in some other countries and U.S. states, but the amended Italian law goes further, classifying surrogacy as a rare universal crime that transcends borders, like terrorism or genocide.

The measure marks the strongest salvo yet in far-right Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s bid to put a conservative stamp on Italian society, and it elevates surrogacy as a hot-button issue in the West’s raging culture wars.

The law, passed last year by the lower house and effectively ensured by the Senate vote on Wednesday, also criminalizes work by Italian citizens employed as doctors, nurses and technicians in foreign fertility clinics that facilitate surrogacies.

That and other aspects of the amended law may be hard to enforce. Even backers of the legislation concede that heterosexual couples may face few questions when returning to Italy with an infant, or when registering their child’s birth certificate with local municipalities. Who is to say that the woman in that couple didn’t deliver the baby while abroad? By contrast, an infant in the arms of same-sex parents — particularly two men — would amount to an obvious red flag.

“The people who can’t hide this are gay couples,” said Alessia Crocini, director of Rainbow Families, a group that opposed the law. “This is about [targeting] gay fathers.”

Same-sex couples are already barred under Italian law from domestic or international adoption. Thus, the new law effectively cuts off the last, best route for gay male couples residing in Italy to start families.
