I don't love the job Grimes has done so far, BUT. Jalon Daniels has thrown 6 INT in the last 2 games. If we have to point fingers, that's where they need to be pointed

He threw 6 picks in the last 2 games? You sure about that?randylahey wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 9:27 am I don't love the job Grimes has done so far, BUT. Jalon Daniels has thrown 6 INT in the last 2 games. If we have to point fingers, that's where they need to be pointed
I happen to agree with you that fingers need to be pointed at him. He's been terrible.

*5. Felt like 10 tho. I happen to think we've got a talented offense, but you ain't gonna win games turning it over like that.RainbowsandUnicorns wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 10:24 amHe threw 6 picks in the last 2 games? Usually I point out that QBs are not solely at fault for all of their interceptions.randylahey wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 10:36 am*5. Felt like 10 tho. Daniels was at fault for a lot more than 5 bad passes (and even more bad decisions) the past 2 games.
We have a shit load of talent on offense. Daniels should be an asset. Too often he's been a liability.
I know we can't quit on Daniels but if we have any games that aren't close going in the 4th quarter, I feel we should let the guy who has siblings with the names of Sunnie, Rainn, and Cash, play.
On a related side note. I admit I was clueless. Now I understand why Bean is on the Colts.

Re: Fire Grimes Thread
Defenses have evolved to counter deep passing. Everyone is using the high safeties. We need an intermediate passing game to complement the running and motion game. I think Rip Van Daniels has had a late wake up to the deep zone coverages. He flat out missed the linebacker on his last interception because UNLV had moved him around. The new radio only works until the defense resets.

We have/had an intermediate game with Grimm running slants. He/Arnold can do this effectively. I’m not at fire him, but holy shit this is missing the best window (perceived) for KU football in, forever?!?!?!
And that’s sad.

The shitty thing about daniels turnovers is we have already seen him play relatively mistake free football at a high level before injury.
We had an expectation that he would come in and pick up where he left off. He hasn't. Maybe that's not fair, but it is what it is.

Honestly the whole thing has very strong senior Sherron vibes.Back2Lawrence wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 12:20 pmThis is perhaps the most sensible post of yours I can remember lolrandylahey wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 12:18 pm The shitty thing about daniels turnovers is we have already seen him play relatively mistake free football at a high level before injury.

Re: Fire Grimes Thread
Cool, the problem is the OC left town. JD has always been a gunslinger type QB. He did have a OC that ran schemes that got players open. The two interception's against UNLV the receiver's were open. JD just locked in on those guys which allowed defense to make plays and if he would have thrown pass earlier they both would have been completed. The problem is the playcalling. With the RPO action we ran you had to lean toward stopping the run.....or we ran. Once a defense leaned in you passed.randylahey wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2024 12:18 pm The shitty thing about daniels turnovers is we have already seen him play relatively mistake free football at a high level before injury.

I have heard that Grimes is moving to the box. Typically your OC is calling plays from the box. For some reason Grimes has been on the sideline. Which to me he was really not focused on what the defense is trying to stop he just calling situational plays.
Those WR's bubble screen's need to be taken out of the playbook.
