Thanks for the laugh! I’m stuck in a parking lot knowing I’m not going to get home for at least another 3 hours after a horse shit football game.

Career opportunity:

OnlyFans creators made $5.32B in 2023

Porn-driven creator platform OnlyFans recorded a revenue of $1.31 billion in 2023, a jump of 20% year-over-year.

Gross payments made through the OnlyFans platform surged 19% to $6.63 billion in 2023. This means OnlyFans creators earned about $5.32 billion last fiscal year, keeping 80% of all the payments made on the platform.

The site, where celebrities and adult-film stars charge people to view their photos and videos, posted a profit of about $485.5 million in the year ending November 30, 2023, up 20% from the prior year, its holding company Fenix International said in a report on Friday.

The platform's total number of creators grew 21% to 4.1 million in 2023, with total users rising 28% to about 305 million.

OnlyFans paid its owner Leonid Radvinsky $472 million in dividends in 2023, up nearly 40% from $338 in 2022. Radvinsky, the sole owner of Fenix International, has made over $1 billion from the site in three years.

The site was founded in 2016 by British father-and-son duo Guy and Tim Stokely. Radvinsky, who currently lives in Florida, bought a 75% stake in the company in 2018.

Here's a very young Derek Trucks playing with Will Lee, the bassist (and vocalist here) and drummer Anton Fig both from the Letterman Late Show band, and the left-handed guitarist is Eliot Easton of The Cars, and the other guitarist is Bugs Henderson.

His slide guitar solo in in Angel From Montgomery is off the chain. So cool to see that is where is roots are.

We were hosting art coffee this morning in my office conference room. One of our regulars was asking for religiosity details from each of our childhoods. It lead to a story from her childhood, not sure how but that is how her mind works.

For background her parents were German jews who fled the Nazis to Switzerland where she was born. Early in her childhood the family moved to North Carolina where this story takes place. She had an unusual accent for a North Carolinian, at the time she was 5 years old.

She is standing with her mother in line at the post office in Asheville. The man behind her hears her speak and asks, "Where are you from little girl?".

She takes him by the hand and leads him outside where they are standing on the sidewalk. She points at the sun and then swings her arm to the right.

"I am from the fifth planet to the right of the sun."

She matter of factly walks back into the post office to wait with her mother.

She had no recollection of what the man's reaction was. We asked her, "where the hell does a 5 year come up with that answer?" She laughed and said she has no idea where that came from. We do not doubt that she may have lived on another planet and we expressed an interest in visiting. She says no visa is necessary, but please do not eat their dogs.

If you are in KC, you can see her current exhibit at the Leedy-Voulkos Art Center.
I saw the worst minds of my generation empowered by madness, bloated farcical naked,
dragging themselves through the whitewashed streets at dawn looking for a grievance fix.

50 floors up. Window slightly open. I hear bad trumpet music. It's annoying. I look outside and can't pinpoint where it's coming from.

Then.... BINGO! I found it. 2+ blocks away.

Red Lobster officially exits bankruptcy with a fresh start

The Red Lobster restaurant chain announces that it exited Chapter 11 restructuring and closed on its acquisition by RL Investor Holdings LLC.

RL Investor Holdings LLC is an entity created by funds managed by affiliates of Fortress Investment Group, alongside co-investors TCW Private Credit and Blue Torch.

Red Lobster CEO Damola Adamolekun said the seafood chain is now a stronger, more resilient company as it enters a new chapter in its history.

He highlighted that the comprehensive and long-term investment plan for Red Lobster includes a commitment of more than $60 million in new funding, which is expected to help the company deliver improvements across every aspect of the company.

Red Lobster starts off its new corporate identity as an independent, privately held company with 545 restaurant locations across 44 U.S. states and four Canadian Provinces.

Some of the restaurant chains that compete with Red Lobster for traffic include Applebee's (DIN), Landry's Joe's Crab Shack, Chili's (EAT), Bonefish Grill (BLMN), Olive Garden (DIN), Logan's Roadhouse, McGrath's Fish House, and Outback Steakhouse (BLMN).

Red Lobster's history: The company was founded in 1968 by Bill Darden in Lakeland, Florida. In 1970, General Mills (GIS) acquired the then five-unit company, fueling its rapid expansion across the United States. Red Lobster became part of Darden Restaurants (DRI) in 1995 when General Mills (GIS) spun off its restaurant division. In 2014, Darden Restaurants (DRI) sold Red Lobster to private equity firm Golden Gate Capital for $2.1 billion. As part of the sale, a sale-leaseback of the real estate for 500 restaurants was completed to American Realty Capital Partners for $1.5 billion. In 2016, seafood supplier Thai Union Group acquired a 25% stake in Red Lobster for $575 million. In 2020, Thai Union purchased the remaining portion from Golden Gate Capital. Finally, in May 2024, facing financial difficulties, Red Lobster filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and closed 99 restaurants.
