Jayhawks in the NBA
Re: Jayhawks in the NBA
Good.
Braun deserves it because he isn't a stat chaser.

They probably had a jump-off for it.

I feel Braun deserves it because he contributed to, and won, a championship in Denver while wearing the number.

Lol. Good for him.DeletedUser wrote: ↑Tue Aug 27, 2024 10:10 am Sounds like Braun is keeping #0 and Westbrook will be #4 this year for the Nuggets. Westbrook asked for #0 and CB said no apparently.
Christian braun = ncaa champion and nba champion
Westbrook = never a champion. He was the point guard for Kevin fucking Durant and couldn't figure out to pass the ball

I knew you guys would love that. Whoever had #4 gave it up at least.
All jokes aside, Russ will be a net positive for them I think. It's about as perfect of a fit as you can get for him (on a good team at least).

"Let's please leave our young star alone," Westbrook wrote. "CB and I never discussed him passing along the number 0. I didn't want (to) inquire about or request the number 0 because I chose to mark this new change with a 'new' number."

Kieff inked new deal with Dallas

Can't be much more than the league minimum. Helpful as a veteran leader but as a player (with 35 year old balls), the dude pretty much sucks.
Oh, I'm sorry. I meant to also post - good for him.

I keep thinking it's probably his last year in the league. He's basically emergency depth and a veteran locker room presence. Not gonna play really

Feels like this is probably the twins last year on a roster. They had a nice little run and made some money. Wonder what comes next.. could they be involved with KU moving forwardRainbowsandUnicorns wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2024 4:25 pm MarCUS Twinkee Sr signs an Ex 9 with the Kickerbockers. Yippie Skippie Doo.

Probably a dumb question but I will ask it anyways... Is the main reason why TRob didn't survive in the NBA because he didn't shoot 3s?

Yes. He was an old school power forward and not a center. Played a position that was being phased put. He would have done well in the 80s/90sRainbowsandUnicorns wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2024 10:35 amCould? Sure, I suppose. Will they? He also got drafted by a dumpsterfire organization, and traded to a couple more. Made it hard for him to find footing in the league in his early career

Re: Jayhawks in the NBA
They are actually really respected and well thought of in the nba. Great locker room guys and very professional towards the game. It's what has kept them on rosters the past few seasons.
Which is weird, remembering what they were like at KU. If you are a KU fan that doesn't pay attention to NBA, you probably don't beleive it
Re: Jayhawks in the NBA
TRob was also not a good defender in college.
He would always over commit - a lot of those deficiencies got hidden because of the DPOY Withey ( and also because Tyshawn and Releford were good defenders ).
I think he got a raw deal ( his per minute numbers were actually pretty damn good for a bit ) but he was a detriment on the defensive end in the NBA.

They have tough guy i'll beat your ass tude. They've always had it. They've been involved in several violent altercations over their careers -- whether found guilty or not.randylahey wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2024 11:41 amThey are actually really respected and well thought of in the nba. I'm all for being tough but not in a violence first sort of way.
