Every politician has changing views on some topic over time. Just depends on what the topic is, what office they are running for and what the climate of the society is at the time. Trump's mind has changed about abortion how many times just in this election cycle?

I challenged randy before to provide one example of her saying she supported a ban or buyback of ALL firearms. He couldn't do it.

She did say things about supporting mandatory buybacks of certain weapons back in the 2020 election cycle:

https://www.nraila.org/articles/2024091 ... -own-words

At a September 2019 campaign event, Harris told reporters that confiscating commonly-owned semi-automatic firearms was “a good idea.” Elaborating on her support for a compulsory “buyback” program, Harris added, “We have to work out the details -- there are a lot of details -- but I do…We have to take those guns off the streets.”

(Sahil Kapur, Kamala Harris Supports Mandatory Buyback of Assault Weapons, Bloomberg, September 6, 2019)

On the September 16, 2019 episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Harris reiterated her support for gun confiscation. During a question-and-answer session, an audience member asked Harris “Do you believe in the mandatory buyback of quote-unquote assault weapons and whether or not you do, how does that idea not go against fundamentally the Second Amendment?”

The candidate responded, “I do believe that we need to do buybacks.” Making clear that she believes Americans’ Second Amendment rights are for sale, Harris added “A buyback program is a good idea. Now we need to do it the right way. And part of that has to be, you know, buy back and give people their value, the financial value.”

On October 2, 2019, Harris called for gun confiscation during an MSNBC “gun safety forum.” During the event, Harris had the following exchange with MSNBC anchor Craig Melvin.
Melvin: As you know, the ‘94 assault weapons ban, it didn’t apply to weapons that were purchased before 1994. What would you do about the millions, specifically assault weapons, that are already in circulation? What do you do about those?”

Harris: Well, there are approximately 5 million, to your point Craig. We have to have a buyback program and I support a mandatory buyback program. It’s got to be smart, we got to do it the right way, but there are 5 million at least some estimate as many as 10 million and we’re going to have to have smart public policy that’s about taking those off the streets.

(2020 Gun Safety Forum, MSNBC, October 2, 2019, Watch the Video)

On October 31, 2019, Harris called for gun confiscation at a public television candidates forum in Ankeny, Iowa. Responding to a question about gun control, Harris answered, “I support buybacks.” The forum moderator then asked Harris, “How mandatory is your gun buyback program?” Harris made clear, “It’s mandatory.”

So he is technically right about that. But it does not sound like she continues to support that anymore so it's a moot point. In 2020, she had the mindset of a prosecutor. Now, she has more of a mindset of a politician and recognizes that mandatory buybacks is a non-starter. I am pretty liberal and don't support mandatory buybacks at all.

I felt he implied she supported bans and/or buybacks on ALL guns. Thus, my saying she didn't do that.
If he only meant "assault weapons" and "semi-automatic firearms", then I stand corrected.

Regardless of semantics, she's not taking everyone's guns. No matter if she said she is - or isn't.

“all” is exactly what he was implying

the vagueness is intentional
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Yeah, Randy isn't real specific with any details as it helps his plausible deniability when it turns out he is wrong. No wonder he enjoys Trump so much.

And yeah, I agree. There is zero chance it would ever happen or would even be allowed to happen, especially with the current Supreme Court makeup. Randy whining about it is just more noise attempting to distract from the constant flow of racist, vile horseshit flowing out of the GOP candidates. And he seems to just enjoy being a dipshit to watch our responses to it.

There is no national gun registration, so good luck trying to have a "mandatory" buy back. You fuckers crying about guns being taken away from your tiny hands are just falling hook, line, and sinker for the gun manufacturer propaganda. Buy, Baby, buy. That is what they want you to do.

I am in support of a mandatory buyback program of all assault rifles so if that was still her opinion it would make me want to vote for her more.

If you owned an assault weapon after a certain period of time, well, now you would be breaking the law.

And zero tracking of guns sold on the secondary market so there is no way that the government would be able to enforce this other than to say "if we have to deal with you on something unrelated and find out you still have one of these then you're really gonna get in trouble. It would create shitstorms regularly. No chance the government wades into that cesspool.

Somewhere just outside of Lawrence there was, and may still be, a farm with a "tommy gun" that could be held and shit could be blowed up with. I have been told that William S Burroughs frequented the place, he of "William Tell" wife killing fame. I had a couple of friends in college who went out there and shot the thing. They don't just go away and the gubermint will never find them.

But yes rubes, Kamala wants to take yer guns.

The only away to stop her? Give me more tax cuts!

Do you even hear yourself talk?

If that is true - which I think all of us would agree that it is - that is all the evidence one should need that our gun laws are FAR too permissive.

There is a cultural addiction in this country to the notion of unfettered access to guns. The bone-deep belief that one is entitled as a birthright to unfettered access to guns.

Basic logic says that someone who would react violently to not being allowed to have an assault rifle, should not have an assault rifle.

GDP @ 3%?

Thanks Kamala, and Joe!

S&P, Dow and Nasdaq climb as U.S. Q3 growth lands at solid 3% rate

Stocks gained with the Commerce Department's U.S. Q2 GDP growth estimate, which remained at 3.0% in its third and final print, matching the consensus estimate of +3.0%. The figure helped eased concerns about the U.S. economy after the Federal Reserve pointed to slowing in the labor market as reason to begin cutting interest rates...

If you genuinely believe that the reasons the Second Amendment was adopted in 1791 justify unfettered civilian access to assault rifles in 2024, then I would suggest you are experiencing delusions and probably should not have any guns.
