"Acknowledging the world being spherical isn't THE single most important thing of being a cartographer but it's pretty damn important."
This last part.
Except you KNOW the candidate knows the earth is spherical, and that he’s lying to you to curry favor from his boss who makes money off selling “WARNING: EDGE OF THE WORLD” signs.
Knowingly lying is SO much worse than merely being wrong.
True.
And, Christ almighty, throwing a hissy fit over NOT being allowed to lie should be entirely disqualifying.
We knew Vance lied about brown people in Springfield for personal gain.
We knew that
he knew he was lying about brown people in Springfield all along. We knew that he even admitted to lying about brown people in Springfield for personal gain. We knew that he has such disdain for our laws that he declared himself the arbiter of what degree of "legal" the brown people in Springfield are or are not.
What we did not know, until last night, is that he feels
entitled to lie for personal gain. That he is
offended by the mere possibility of being gently nudged in the direction of the truth.
He is a snowflake's snowflake.
And while he might have the cognitive ability to be a President, he doesn't have the character or the temperament to be trusted to watch your cactus over a long weekend.
