A friend of mine is in Maine this week, and sending me lots of photos. She’s in her happy space, and I can see why. If it weren’t for Pdub being there, I’d want to go!!! 😇😇😇

Believe it or not, Lawrence, Kansas has a lower average daily high temp in the months of December, January and February ( so better chance at being colder ) than Portland, Maine.

If I wasn't 15 minutes from my grandkids, I'd move back to Larryville in a second.

I’ve been back 3 years, and my interest is waning. Of course I don’t have live in ass, so that doesn’t help in your 50s.

Yeah, with a catchy line like “live in Ass”…. He should be swimming in it

Then Mrs. 99 and I went to the Asian restaurant and had dinner and sake. Then I drank some more cervasas.

I have never lived south of Lawrence, KS.

If I lived somewhere further south, say Miami, FL (haha), would I notice the lengthening and shortening of the days?

The annual amount of daylight all averages out pretty closely (Maine vs Florida), but the over 6 hours of less daylight in a Portland, ME (very southern Maine) winter is noticeable! There is only just over 3 hours difference between summer and winter daylight per day in Miami.

It gets very dark here in the winters.
On the bright side ( pun intended ) summer days last until 9 PM.

if you lived further South, the days and nights would be more equal in duration throughout the year, but I know you know that.

Living in Hawaii, you don't notice they are always the same length more or less.

That is ONE of the things I love about living in the PNW, getting light out at 4:45 AM and dark at 10:30 PM in the summer.
