Denial ain’t just a river in Egypt.
There is no denying that Indigenous women are a disproportionately high percentage of the victims of human trafficking.

https://lawblogs.uc.edu/ihrlr/2021/10/1 ... re-of-law/

But you may want to check in on who it is that are committing a majority of these human trafficking crimes as it doesn't really align with the scary story the GOP is telling you:

https://bjs.ojp.gov/library/publication ... ities-2023

Of the 1,197 defendants charged with any of the three types of human trafficking offenses in fiscal year 2021:

92% were male
60% were white
20% were black
16% were Hispanic
95% were U.S. citizens
68% had no prior convictions

It was not the Democrats who spiked the border legislation written by Sen. James Lankford (R-OK).
The border legislation that was backloaded with lots of funding for processing new immigrants rather than funding ways to keep them out? The nerve!

If placed one football field apart from each other, this plan would require three million, five hundred twenty thousand turrets.
Better get started, then. Time’s a wastin’.
If you are planning on staffing even one of every three of these turrets with a single live person (who can somehow keep watch 24/7/365.25), you should be aware that you’d need more people than are presently on active duty in the US military. And of course the real bitch of it is that, as your fantasies would have it, there just so happens to be a pool of 10+ million potential prisoners you might conscript for this duty, only they are probably somewhat sympathetic to the people in the crosshairs.
So, by your logic, if we can’t completely fix it right now, better to just throw up our hands and be overrun. Solid.

OK, lets play "keep them out" vs. "process them". "Them" being illegal immigrants, criminal and drugs.

https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-roo ... e%20timely

The bill included:
- $405 million to hire 1,300 additional Border Patrol Agents to secure the border (KEEP THEM OUT)
- $239 million to hire 1,000 additional CBP Officers to stop illicit fentanyl and other contraband from entering the U.S (KEEP THEM OUT)
- $755 million to hire an additional 1,600 Asylum Officers and support staff to facilitate timely immigration dispositions (PROCESS THEM)
- $100 million for Homeland Security Investigations to investigate and disrupt transnational criminal organizations and drug traffickers (KEEP THEM OUT)
- $1.3 billion for the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) to fund the hiring of 375 new immigration judge teams to help reduce the immigration case backlog (PROCESS THEM)
- $849 million for cutting-edge detection technology at ports of entry (KEEP THEM OUT)
- $86 million in air and maritime operational support that is central to efforts to secure the border (KEEP THEM OUT)
- approximately $1 billion for Central American programming to meet the President’s commitment to invest $4 billion in Central America over four years to address the root causes of migration (KEEP THEM OUT)

So once again, you could have facts checked yourself but chose instead to speak from a position of ignorance.

Fixed with addition.
The only way the wall will work is with armed personnel/armed technology to shoot intruders. Trump will make that happen.
There is a zero percent chance that Trump would do that. None. Get real. We don't live in a video game.

Ah, yes, some have used this same argument against trying to do anything at all to stop the mass shootings in our country.

In one world, there are fewer dangerous guns that can insta-kill by the masses because the 2nd amendment is antiquated.
In yours, they line our entire southern border, because 'fuck em'.

The $4,300,000,000 earmarked for DOJ and DHS would have meant $1,221 per turret.* That is less than 1/3 the unit cost per M249 machine gun.

You act like giving $1 billion to Central American countries who are not going to do anything more than pocket the money and continue sending their poorest and most criminal up here is somehow to our benefit. And, again, we don’t need to process - we need to keep them out and deport them. Wasted money.

Basically, it seems to mean turning them loose on a promise to appear in court that will never take place. Money well-spent.

No, that is what happens NOW. What needs to be fixed is staffing courts and law enforcement such that those court dates actually come and our laws can be constitutionally enforced.

1) You are making a giant pile of ignorant assumptions regarding what that money would towards. Sorry, but investing in Central America so that people are less inclined to want to come here in the first place is a far cry from wasted money. And pardon me while I laugh hysterically at the clown who called for turret guns on the border talking about what is and is not "wasted money".

2) It is against the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, signed by the US and many other nations, to close our borders entirely to asylum seekers.

Not quite. What happens now is that they get released, then the vast majority show up for their court date. The problem is that the court date is too far from when they came in so they spend too long in limbo. Those that are determined by the courts to have to go back to where they came from need to be processed and removed quicker and those deemed by the courts to be allowed to stay need to know that quicker so they can get about being productive members of US societies.

Did you read the bill? The majority of the money in it was more aid for Ukraine. The "border bill" was a piece of shit that also allowed thousands of immigrants to still illegally cross daily. The only reason it was even thrown into the mix, was so that libs could claim the pubs "shot down the border bill"

Anyone that actually looked at the bill realized there was absolutely no reason to pass that piece of shit. But some incredibly gullible people like yourself still latched on to the talking point

The situation at the border would be improving more than it already is if they had passed the bill. That is undeniable. But even without it, border crossings are now down lower than when Trump left office which is pretty amazing this many years after the pandemic.

But, how do you keep track of people you turned loose in a country this size when the court date arrives?

Answer: You don’t.

Solution: Don’t let ‘em in to begin with.

Lies. We’ve had more than 10 million (conservative estimate) illegal crossings under Giggles the Border Czar. You can’t start a flood, wait 3 1/2 years, scoop out a bucket of water, and then claim that it’s better than it was.
