I think those that don’t have some religion are dumb. good luck on your deathbed.

So, you think I should hedge my bet, just in case?

i think i’ll just live a good life and try to leave this world a better place, rather than fear an irrelevant unknown
if that’s not good enough for whatever powers that may be, then fuck ‘em
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

Help me to understand. What difference does it make if I have "some religion" or not - when I am on my deathbed?

Re: More evidence that religious threads make you dum
"Admit that I exist or suffer eternal damnation" isn't exactly a great way to build trust. I'll take my chances that just being good for the sake of being good is enough vs. being good to get the reward of heaven (or at least to avoid the punishment of hell). Those are fundamentally selfish motivators, which is not what should drive true goodness.
Re: More evidence that religious threads make you dum
good luck with that. it’s your afterlife, not mine.

If there is an afterlife, and someone/something called God takes more than 2 seconds of his/her/its busy day to decide what happens to me in that afterlife, I hope I will get a chance to tell God to blow me.

It keeps getting proven over and over and over that the Catholic Church is the largest organized child pedophilia ring in our nation's history.KUTradition wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2024 8:00 am more of psych’s people doing what they do

It's an international conspiracy that actively enabled, i.e., coddled*, and shielded from justice, serial pedophiliacs. And, yet...

*coddle - verb
past tense: coddled; past participle: coddled
1. treat in an indulgent or overprotective way.
Similar: pamper, cosset, mollycoddle
People also ask: What does it mean if someone is coddled?
transitive verb. To coddle someone means to treat them too kindly or protect them too much.

After receiving complaints that the priests are raping and abusing kids, they quietly move these pedophile priests out of the communities and into new communities without notifying the new community of the problem. It's beyond repulsive and has forever tarnished the Catholic Church in the eyes of hopefully many people.Shirley wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2024 10:30 amAn international conspiracy that actively enabled, i.e., coddled*, and shielded from justice, serial pedophiliacs.
