It ultimately took a 3rd round pick which might be a touch high for a 1/2 year rental.
I woulda been ok - pained by, but ok - with the price.

That said, at this time last year Rice, who doesn’t have nearly Worthy’s pedigree, had done less than Worthy already has.
Agreed, they're pretty comparable.

Rice had 17 receptions for 173 and 2 TDs through 5 games last year with just a single carry for -3 yards.
Worthy has 12 receptions for 179 yards and 2 TDs through 5 games this year with 6 carries for 42 yards and 2 additional TDs.

I don't think KC needs to mortgage the future to get a temporary replacement for Worthy. They probably need another warm body just in case of injury. We'll see how all the 3 and 4 TE looks go moving forward.
I would be ok - sigh - with bringing back MVS (released today after the Bills acquired Cooper) simply to run the downfield stuff so that Worthy can do more short and intermediate stuff.

With Kaaron Rodgers and Karen Adams on the roster, Team Karen Jets will be unstoppable.

Unless of course everyone else doesn't carry their weight.

Hey, the Kaarens can't throw the ball and catch it and block and tackle on every play damn it!

Rodgers and Adams have convinced themselves that once they get back together, huge success is inevitable.

This is going to be fun to watch.

Maybe if it was 5 years ago.
I think both guys have lost a step and that coaching situation is in shambles.

whats Pittsburgh doing?

They're 4-2 tied atop the division. Fields has been a top 10? top 15 QB. Why would they bench him for a washed up, failed at his last stop, coming off an injury, dink like Russell?

Devil's advocate response.....
Simple answer to your question is - Because Wilson is now "healthy" and he's #1 ("first team") on their depth chart and while Fields has been serviceable, he hasn't been anything so special. Heck, he (Fields) himself said he feels he has been far from great.
Yes, the Steelers are 4-2. Ok, could/would they not be 4-2 with Wilson? We don't know. Heck, they might be 6-0 and they might be 0-6. Wilson has a much better W % in his career than Fields has.
Fields top 10? That's a hard NO from me, and my guess is most people. Top 15? Maybe, probably not. He is #20 in QBR. He's thrown 5 TD passes in 6 games. Ok, yes, to be fair, Fields has rushed for 5 TD.
Yes, Fields is the more "mobile" QB but I would give the edge in accuracy, and field awareness (reading defenses), and
"Wilson failed at his last stop"? I am a bit confused with that. If I am not mistaken, his last "stop" was Seattle. The guy won a SB there. Was an at least 6 or 7 time Pro Bowl guy. Probably led the league in either passing yards, or TDs, at least a season or two.
"Failed at his last stop" applies to Fields a lot more than it applies to Wilson.
Do you mean Wilson has failed in Denver? Most people (myself included) who aren't Wilson haters will tell you last season he was a better QB than Fields.

My only theory, is that they are already committed to Fields long term, but are hoping Wilson can play really well this week or next and become a trade target for one of these teams without a QB.

Or Wilson is just better than Fields?

Guess we'll see.

I think it’s confusing too but ultimately I don’t think you actually are a threat to win in the playoffs with Fields even at his best.

I think at Russ’s best you are.

Despite his situation in Denver he actually wasn’t too bad last season. 67% completion. 26 TD to 8 INT. It’s a flawed stat but he was 8th in passer rating.

Also the Saints are about to face the music of cap space reality.

They pushed everything down the road and now the road is here. Next year they are stuck with this roster. I think the following year they also have barely any wiggle room. They can’t reset, they are trapped.

"Long term" meaning the rest of the season?
After this season, I don't think they are committed to Fields at all. Or at least weren't - recently.
They declined to pick up his fifth year.

My worthless prediction......
Russ plays fair at best the next few games. Steelers have a conundrum.

I agree with the fact they are 4-2 and doing well with Fields but I don't think he's been a top 15 QB.

Josh Allen, Jayden Daniels, Brock Purdy, Lamar Jackson, CJ Stroud, Baker Mayfield, Joe Burrow, Kirk Cousins, Geno Smith, Jordan Love, Sam Darnold, Jalen Hurts, Kyler Murray, Joe Flacco, and yes, even the meh Patrick Mahomes have been better.

Then you look at guys like Dak Prescott and Jared Goff who have had tough starts but as recently as last year were good quarterbacks...have Caleb Williams who is starting to heat up...and, I do have to say it, Aaron Rodgers who now has his lover boy WR.

I think all listed are better than Fields ( in real life not in fantasy points ).

Talking about perfect the Jets versus the Steelers. LOL man Mr Rodgers to me is going straight to clownville. Not even close to being likeable.

Think the Steelers feel Wilson has more passing upside. The problem is the WR room is lacking.
