I'm a much bigger fan of USC than PSU but this will make me laugh if USC loses. Which I am expecting them to do.

Texas has Georgia next week.
tOSU plays UO tonight.
Sorry, I feel college football is better with the mega conferences. At least the regular season is. To me.

its not.

it's a few good games and a whole bunch of games that feel like the meaningless bowl games that no one ever watches between teams woth no history or rivalry or build up or passion. It's professionally paid players traveling 3 time zones on weekends in the middle of the school year to play a sport and wearing a logo for a school they don't give 2 fucks about as long as the check clears

fuck every bit of it

Me Black/ You White / no gray?

My much too long rambling on response.....
I disagree that - "it's a few good games and a whole bunch of games that feel like the meaningless bowl games". I feel that is LESS so now than it was the past 20 or so years of college football.
I disagree that - "no one ever watches between teams with no history or rivalry or build up or passion".
I mean, sure I agree there may not be a "history" or "rivalry" but people are watching and there is build up and passion.

There were fantastic MEANINGFUL games yesterday. Some that otherwise wouldn't have existed without the conference changes.
For example....
ASU/UTAH (Before you say Utah and ASU were both in the Pac 12 - Utah was in the Mountain West in the past decade).
Ohio State/Oregon
Penn State / USC
That's in addition to the other "historical"/"typical" conference games that were played.
I am looking forward to Texas / Georgia next week.
I respect you may don't like it, I really do like it.

It may not have been "professionally paid" players but "traveling 3 time zones on weekends in the middle of the school year to play a sport" has existed since I have been born. Right, I do understand that conference wise it hasn't been, but for SOME fans and players it's a fantastic opportunity to travel to places they otherwise will/have not traveled to. I do get the flip side, it sucks for those fans that like to take "ROAD trips" and drive a few hours to an away game.

Absolutely some players wear a logo for a school they don't really care about but I am fully convinced 99% of college football players care about the team and his teammates that he is playing for and with.

All that being said, your opinions and mine, these were my exact words.... "Sorry, I feel college football is better with the mega conferences. At least the regular season is."

I am with TDub.
There were plenty of great games to be had within conference before conferences were 18 teams.

Yes there were. Now there are even more. For me.
It's A ok with me that might not be the case for you and TDub.
Unlike some others on here, I don't fault people (and actually respect people) for having opinions that differ than mine. Unless their opinions are regarding politics and suck. :)

I am going to say it.
I can’t stand Colorado football.

To me, it’s an “Instagram” football program. All about the flash, the bling, the dancing and the “show”.

Sure, they have some great athletes, but are just a bit better than average at football.

But, they ARE filling the stands, which is the goal. But they are not well coached, not good at fundamentals, reliant on big plays alone.

Their Social Media team is much more effective than their coaching staff.

Got to disagree O. They are almost totally about self promotion. What's not to like? When they lose.

I was wondering what the deal was with that penalty.
The rule should absolutely change - that time should not have come off the clock - this penalty screwed Ohio State as they'd much rather have had 10 seconds ( instead of 6 ) and 5 yards back.

I don't like Illinois. At all. Their uniforms - either the best or the worst in college football - today.
I can't decide.

I hate Texas as much as any Big XII fan who isn't a Texas fan, but after their ascendance to #1, I was secretly hoping they might go down and teach those SEC assholes a thing or two in their first year in the league. But so far, with 6:32 left in the first half, Ewers the Tx QB has lost more yards on sacks, 27 yards, than he's gained passing, 17.

And to say Georgia is "winning the field position game", would be a gross understatement.

Texas isn't doing enough to even make the game interesting, so far.

I take it all back, Tx got a first down with 00:59 left in the first half!

And then their QB got tackled behind the line of scrimmage. smh
