What was truly great about it was the fans threw dangerous projectiles on the field and were rewarded for it. Just like they do for other teams. Right? UT fans were mad at the SEC and now they aren't. I think. Because they know they don't run the conference probably.

Gutter's 5 things after October 19th......

1. This is either a good thing or a bad thing, but it's definitley a thing...... The Texas loss was meaningless if they win their next 6 games - they will still be a top 4 seed in the CFP. Heck, possibly the #1 seed.

Army 7-0 (6-0 in conference). They beat ND and the Navy and are undefeated, they are a top 12 team. Heck, possibly a top 4 team? No. But.... why not?

3. Big 12
Yesterday a lot of people are all over a 7-0 (4-0 in conference) Ketchup and Mustard team. Thinking they may win out. Before the game started yesterday, I thought they were going to lose to UCF. I was hoping they would.
BYU is 7-0 (and 4-0 in conference). People can't not notice that when they look at Ketchup and Mustard.
One of those 2 teams wins out and I don't see how they couldn't/wouldn't be a top 4 seed in the CFP. Heck, even if they have one loss they could (notice I said could and not would) be a #4 seed. My prediction if one of those two teams is a top #4 seed....... See TCU/Georgia January 9th 2023.

4. Big 10
Indiana, Oregon, Penn State. All undefeated and undefeated in conference.
I predict Indiana is going to lose a conference game (at tOSU) or two or three conference games.
I predict Oregon is not going to lose a conference game.
I predict if those top 2 scenarios happens and PSU only loses to tOSU, then the Big 10 has a massive cluster fuck and I don't know but I assume tOSU will play Oregon in the conference championship game. If tOSU avenges their loss to Oregon, and only one of those two teams can/will be a top 4 seed, who does the committee choose?

5. SEC
Not a single undefeated team. Only 2 undefeated teams in conference are A&M and LSU. What kind of odds could I have gotten on that AND..... Riddle me this Batman, if there are no SEC teams with less than 2 conference loses, does the SEC not have a top 4 seed in the CFP? My guess is Georgia wins out, and they get the #1 seed. Regardless if there is/are undefeated teams from other conferences.

Army and Navy ohh boy. So the #5 seed is a non power conference champ. They get one in. Army and Navy are both undefeated. So this year they both in a Conference. I believe it is first year ever.

Now they both could go undefeated and get to the conference championship. They then would play each other first weekend in December for the conference championship and most likely a trip to the playoffs.

However Army and Navy play each other every year. Since forever. This year they play each other but with joining conferences and all that they scheduled the game the second weekend of December.

Now comes the tricky part. The playoffs are announced after the first weekend in December basically Dec 8th. So Army/Navy could play on Dec 7th for the right to get in the playoffs. But they for sure playing on December 14th after the playoffs have been released.

The cool thing to do would be if both finished undefeated then just put them both in.

That being said, like 99, you struggled with numbers this morning.

#1 When you say championship, do you mean regular season or championship game? Either way, you have to figure a 1 loss Texas team is a shoe in for a top 4 ranking. A two loss Texas team that doesn't win their conference championship? Probably still ok but I wouldn't bet my left testicle on it.

#2. I don't know what you are referring to.

#3 Again, do you mean regular season of championship game? I'm not 100% convinced a 2 loss Big 12 team would be a shoe in for a top 4 spot.

1st #4. I am assuming you mean in the Big 10. I'm pretty sure you are right.

I'm torn. Part of me likes that the season, and a possible chance to play for a National Championship, is very much still up in the air for about 20 teams.
I have little doubt the 12 team format is going to be ridiculed as much if not more as the 4 team format. Of course some teams are going to feel they got screwed and people will debate why the 12 teams are ranked the way they are. #5 ad #6 will probably bitch that they should have had a bye.

The playoffs are announced on Dec 8th so you have to play your ship before. Both teams schedules look like there is only one team in the way of undefeated. Notre Dame plays both. Which typically Navy/Army were independent so they played a team like Notre Dame cause they are not in a conference. Notre Dame can not play there way in. They can not be top 4.
