My interactions with pieces of shit, who are probably here illegally, and are probably not going through the system to try and become legal hard working law abiding citizens, and are still being given handouts, and are committing crimes, have not been "overwhelmingly positive". Pretty much the opposite.

How in the fuck does almost 11% of the US not have a high school degree or GED?

How in the fuck does 12% of the US not have internet access?

Whether you can wrap your brain around it, it is the situation we are in. Do some quick math on how much you think it would cost to issue a Govt. ID to 11% of the US. Then remind yourself thatnit is YOUR tax dollars that would need to be spent on that in order not to strip someone's Constitutional right to vote.

I've always said any citizen should be able to get an ID for free. I think it's alarming that, even being in poverty, you can't get far enough ahead to pay for your own ID. A homeless drug addict could panhandle for a couple hours and get enough money for that. See it happen all the time. If you are an adult who has truly made such a mess or your life that you genuinely can't afford an ID, I can't imagine you're going to be making an informed vote or be the kind of person we should be counting on to elect leaders. But everyone should always have the right to vote. And if an ID is the hurdle, make them free. Because we've seen foul play in elections, and IDs have become necessary
